Nice to see someone mention the tightening and loosening of the muscles in the neck. I found out a while back that whenever I felt heavy or tired, just pushing my jaw forward and looking straight up for 30 seconds would make me feel light and happy, so I've started doing that several times a day, it really has improved my sense of wellbeing and my energy level.

For a defined jawline reduce your body fat percentage. There is nothing called spot fat reduction. Everyone has a jawline. It's just the layer of fat on top of that which determines your jawline definition.

@@unknowninfinium4353 It's gonna sound harder than it actually is, but mewing isn't an exercise, it's to change a bad habit. You should always mew, the resting position of your face should be lips closed, teeth slightly touching and tongue on the pallate (roof of the mouth). Hard mewing can be done as an exercise, the more you do it the faster you'll see results, but it can also cause you headaches (just like doing any other high force activity)

Tip: look in the mirror and smile, and make sure your bottom row of teeth is aligned with your top row (even if you have to actively align it yourself) then close your mouth while keeping your top and bottom rows aligned. Some people have overbites that make it look like your jaw is shifting more into your neck area that sticking out and being defined. When the rows of your teeth are aligned, it reveals your jawline’s actual shape. But honestly this won’t work if your body fat percentage is too high. Basically don’t just let your face hang even when you aren’t speaking. Have your jaw muscles constantly be occupied on keeping your face up. The constant tension of keeping your jaw up will allow your face to get a daily workout. It’s like holding a plank but for your face.

You're going to fuck up your teeth with this, we are supposed to have a slight overbite so the front teeth don't meet the bottom ones when we chomp. I got it into my head when I was a teenager that the teeth should be aligned like you're saying and yeah after a year of that my dentist had to remove a tiny bit off the bottom of my front teeth to straighten them after they had been unevenly eroded from hitting into my bottom teeth. It also makes a smile look very unnatural.

Well, I walked into the living room one day and she wasn't expecting me. She was watching TV, with a large bowl of ice cream in her hand eating it , and wearing this tight black thing around her chin and head. When she saw me she jumped a little , and then just relaxed again like oh well, lol. I said " what is that thing on yout head?" She said " it's a chin strap, it's suppoed to help get rid of the double chin." I went to my room thinking " Well, the chin strap isn't going to help much when you are eating an entire bowl of ice cream wearing it." Lol. Kind of defeats the purpose.

Very good video, breathing through your nose with your mouth shut is a natural thing humans do because it's healthier as your nose partially filters the air - but the recessed mouthbreather jaw seems to be prominent because of looking down at phones and bad air quality causing your nose to block. I've known about mewing for 3 years or so and while I'm able to do this during the day, I often wake up mouth breathing because my nose is totally blocked, and the minute I sit up it unblocks, which is sad. The top comment here is stating that "for a defined jawline reduce your body fat percentage, everyone has a jawline, It's just the layer of fat on top that determines the definition" - This is just plain wrong, it's true that being fat will cover up your jawline but if you have bad posture and only mouth breathe it changes the shape of everything, your face is more elongated and your jawline points down and actually recedes inward. Just look up pictures of mewing and look at pictures of people that have changed their face with it, they didn't lose any fat, the jaw changed shape.

How to get a more defined jawline: Pick a toned physique to start with, put some effort into the overall head shape (this does effect how the world sees your jawline), raise the jowls a bit but not too high up, adjust the cheeks so that they are not puffing out but also not look like they've been botoxed, pull the chin forward slightly and extend the jaw outward, slightly increase the distance from the upper lip to the nostrils (this is called the philtrum), customize eyes, choose hair color, and then respawn.

this is all true, and it all works, been doing this all subconsciously for like 3 years now. Had a great jawline even when I was at like 25% body fat, even better now around 17%. just so you know, if you start to notice jaw pain, you've been biting too hard subconsciously. it just happens sometimes. Remind yourself to loosen up a bit every once in a while.

I'm doing mewing for like a few months now. Most effect comes from muscle pulling hyoideal bone up. And if you have an overbite, you have to put your lower front teeth slightly touching the upper ones. That will probably result in a recess between molars. After two weeks you'll have no problem doing that. Without putting too much thought into it. Your mandible won't become larger, but your muscles will adapt and your face will become more aesthetic just because your jaw becomes more prominent. Just from posture. I really doubt it will change my bone structure, but I can't really look at the mirror with jaw position I used to have, and it's really strange.

Keep in mind the younger you are the more affective it is as well also obviously having a low body fat percentage and working out the muscles in the mouth by chewing more and doing tongue exercises alongside mewing makes big differences down the line

You got it right, I think. As I posted in another comment here, I was part of the original Mewing community. We all thought we were seeing improvements for the first couple of years, but most of us have given up by now. You get used to breathing through your nose if you were a mouth breather, but no changes in bone structure. People were just tilting their head backwards and using favorable lighting. Just look at the angle of ears is in photos you see. I don't think they meant to. They just took a bunch of pictures and shared the ones that made them look good. We saw some photos of really good results, but I'm almost sure they were photo shopped. Anyway... Eirght years or so now, and I can't see any results, nor can my friends who mewed. Losing weight, though... Improving posture, social skills... It makes a world of difference. Don't let not "being a Chad" get you down. Most chads have no game. Sure, they do well, but if you get good game, get a good job, work out... You'll do better. And if you're young... Just wait till your late 20s, and 30s. You'll do so much better. (Don't actually wait... You can still do well right now. Work out, practice, and get lucky.) And again, work out... Pack on 10 to 20 pounds of muscle, and you'll automatically be in the top 20% of men.

Just a small tip: Make sure your'e inhaling is shorter than your exhaling, otherwise your'e actually activating your sympathetic nervous system, which is the opposite of the resting and digesting system. So you're better inhaling a bit faster and exhaling more slowly. Ps. Yes these exercises do work, i've been doing the ones from "carole maggio facebuilder exercises for men" book and they drastically have changed my face.
