it also shows he can come up with things himself, which personally I find very appealing. Past experience a lot of dudes are just as "whatever" about plans as women unless it's something super specific, ie a band playing or some such event. I think sometimes it's an evasive maneuver that eliminates the need to come up with something or the rejection if he comes up with something you don't want to do

Dress casual enough thats its accepted at all 3 places, and depending on what she wears, go to that place. Something that's *not* dinner and a movie. Depending on the season and proximity to holidays I recommend using that to you're advantage. For example it's summer take your date to an amusement park or the beach. It's different and could be really fun. If it's winter ice skating. Spring Bike ride through the park or just a simple walk stop and grab some ice cream enjoy the scenery. Fall pumpkin picking you guys could even do cool arts and crafts. This allows you guys to see a more adventurous creative side that could be desirable for a possible partner.
