follow the video, tips windstorm after throwing weapon to big boxs will destroy boxes faster. orange boxes are destroyed via physical attacks , and purple boxes are destroyed faster via magic. second tip use triangle attack on orange boxes. third tip when you fill an atb use windstorm to destroy a box. if done right then this should take a few tries

Mate, thank you so much for this. I tried other guides that just weren't good enough. Even right at the start, the way you throw the shuriken to the right AND THEN take out the purple boxes, then simply wait for the first throw to explode those first boxes. THIS is exactly why it worked because that opened my eyes to doing it less frantically. I got it on the 2nd go following your way (even with messing up and slightly deviating from the order you did it in). Its like all the guides with the Tifa pull ups that said "once it goes full speed, just press it as fast as you can". WRONG. You can go too fast for the prompts even when it goes to full speed and it took me figuring that out myself and then I could do it multiple times after. But all the videos claiming this little thing and it was reason I couldn't do it for hours. This video is like that revelation. ^_^ And people saying its nerfed, it ain't. You just have to let the shuriken throw be on the box for a sec or 2 and then the Wind Storm will take it out guaranteed like in the video.

What settings do you have on for the camera? In the beginning, you hit the boxes to your right, but for the LIFE of me, I can't get her to aim for them like that.

ngl im not sure since this video i came up with a easier way to do this challenge. in the beginning i move the left analog and use throw on the boxes on the right.

I had to make sure to set camera responsiveness to 5 in the options, I think it's 3 by default.

This helped me a lot. One additional tip I’d give is using the first strike and deadly dodge Materia. They give an extra bit of help some might need to succeed.

@@makairp not necessarily. I played most of the game without them because I wanted other spells and the temp buff from first strike is only useful if you can quickly kill your foe. The value in the minigame however can't be understated.

Did windstorm get nerfed? Windstorm does nothing when I try using it. It shows the animation but its not doing any damage to the boxes...

windstorm works two ways, when yuffie throws it and then uses it. it does more damage to boxes.

Not sure about PC but this strat still works on PS5.

it did get nerfed, at least once they ported it to PC. windstorm no longer does as much damage as it does in the PS version. I just tested your way of doing it, and it failed to deliver. best score i can get is 43000

I did this recently following this and still scored 50000.

Nope. Whatever I do, it's just not working out like the video. For starters, the 2 boxes upfront don't break. They get damaged, the weapon stays stuck in the box but it comes back before they break. I went back and looked. I can have a stack of boxes targeted and she throws it at the time block instead, which in turn bust the time block and doesn't give me the retrieve function. I'm 10 seconds behind by the time I get to the 3rd room. Same outcome over and over.

@@makairp 30 more attempts. Those boxes to the right of the start do not break. Period. Once I take a step towards the boxes right in front of me the the weapon retracts and does not break the boxes. I don't even have to press any buttons. Just simply take a few steps forward, weapon comes back, boxes do not break. Turning to break those boxes gimps you by 5 plus seconds. I've scored 48500 now but without being able to exploit the mechanics this isn't gonna happen.

@@makairp OK, So, I DID IT !! lmao SO my dumbass was throwing the weapon and then holding the button down. When the power move from holding the button down gets executed it retracts the weapon. Lesson here is "tap the attack button, do not hold". Also, I used your video and ended up going room by room with it. I did have a variation or two and the aim was off a few times but I still had 7 seconds at the end. Thanks for the work you did here. Now, onto that last but not least, Weiss. EDIT: I play on PC I can confirm this works there.
