How To Germinate Magnolia Seeds | Seed Stratification and Sowing ASMR
It's time to grow magnolia tree from seeds! You can harvest magnolia seeds when they're red and fully ripe and grow your own magnolia tree from seeds. However magnolia seeds need a process called stratification before germinating so I want to show you how to germinate magnolia seeds and how to stratify seeds before sowing.
Hope you enjoy this asmr video of planting seeds and especially the seed timelapse video I've recorded :)

This is awesome. I have a little gem I planted from Lowes in 2006. It's 30 ft tall x 12. Took 10 good years to flower. Almost cut it down. I work away from home so the birds leave me with empty winter seed pods. Actually I've only ever seen the pods on the ground in December. What are your thoughts on store bought seed? Should I buy the fruited pods or the cleaned seeds. I should be paying you for your advice thank you

wish you best of luck! Don't worry, i'm sure they'll germinate ❤
How long is the process to germinate the seeds till you put it in individual pots.

it took around 3 months as i remember.
Id be delighted if you could help me out regarding my magnolia. I have a magnolia seedling that survived its first winter outdoors, i dug the pot down and the plant was covered with leaves. What do i do now? Should i wait till fall before re-potting it? Right now its in a plastic nursery pot.

Nursery pots are quite suitable for seedlings as they keep the potting mix moist and have a bunch of drainage holes. If this roots are well developed, you can repot it. Transfer to a pot which is 1 or 2 size bigger.

non tutti i semi germinano con successo. Potresti anche perdere le piantine se dimentichi di annaffiarle.

Hello , i planted some seeds like 10 in a box like yours but i didn't kept them in refrigerator, but kept the box open and placed it on my House ground floor. I planted the seeds on 2 September after harvesting from a big Magnolia plant. Can you tell me how they germinated and also now they have gotten 2 -3 leaves. I sow around 10 and 4 have leaves now and some are germinating .... I live in india and in September, when i planted them, it was end of monsoon and not cold but not much warm also, from end of oct, winter started... So i was thinking do they undergo natural stratification?

Hello! Not quite sure but could the area you kept them be a bit cool? We don't need so much cold but some chill. i don't know how the seeds behave in your area, but it seems that they have been through some kind of natural stratification :) Enjoy your seedlings!

@@rootsbuds thanks . Yeah i too think the same. And I am even surprised that more than 90% have germinated . And the one I kept in refrigerator have shown negligible results. How cool same plant responding differently at different places. Btw, love your videos . Keep going girl. 🥰👍

Don't grow all magnolias in one pot, you can damage the roots when repot them and that may end badly for your plants. Use individual container for each plant.

that's a good idea, this year i'll use individual pots for each seed.

@@rootsbuds And remember ...when repot your plant in bigger pot leave all the ground near roots, and add new soil, don't take away the old ground away. When plant in the garden don't replant ...or if you want to change the plase try not to damage roots ....magnolias dont like when you do manipulations with roots. If you sell your plants sell with soil. I bought with opened roots without soil and it died and I couldnt do enything to save it.
Seed method takes too long to get anything. Just use air layering method and you can clone as many clones of your favorite magnolia as you want, and each clone is far bigger than a tiny germinated sprout….
That noise when watering the pot was gross
