What about using the interior lighting system?

You can control the fog lights on autolights. The system only turns them on and off based on how dark it is out. When your headlights come on in auto mode press your foglight button and the foglights will turn on or off based on your liking. You can only turn foglights on or off if the parking lights are on or the headlights are on. So you have to wait til dark to make your foglight adjustment, whether you like them off or on. On my 2022 explorer timberline you can turn on and off the fog lights on auto. I do it all the time.

Have you read the owner manual before taking this video? Most of your explanations are substantially wrong and missleading, e.g. 'nighttime running lights' simply do not exist. From top to bottom the correct functions are: - OFF: headlamps OFF (daytime running lights are active if selected on the center screen and transmission is not in PARK) - PARK: park/tail/side lights on - AUTO: detecting day/night condition and provides same functions as the OFF and HEAD position) - HEAD: low/high beams as well as PARK lights are on The front fog lamps are on, when the switch is in PARK, HEAD or AUTO position (in AUTO front fog lamps as well as Auto Highbeam are available only during night condition)

Too bad that Ford doesn't allow for a change in the auto high beam. My wife's Explorer auto high beams don't come on until she hits 32 mph, which is ridiculously high for folks living in high deer population areas.

Can't imagine buying a car from a guy that doesn't even understand how the lights work. How do you have a job?
