    Thanks Chad! I’ll try this today. I struggle so hard with FS. Spent my whole childhood only doing BS and since getting back into it as an adult I’ve been wanting to start doing FS.

    for those that fear the hop, try shifting the weight of your back foot heel side while at the same time pivoting and having a seat in a straight back chair. good luck!

    Tips that helped me learn this: 1. Position your front foot further over the board edge; 2. Crouch more; 3. Look back into the ramp under your front armpit; 4. Barely lift the front truck as you come back in.

    Thank you Chad! Been waiting for this one. Will muster up more courage and try your tips this week. The falling blindly back into the ramp aspect of this trick is just as troublesome as the hanging up part for me. Any tips on how to force my body to adjust to it as smoothly as yours look?

    To come back I first lift my front truck ,and drop in from a front 5-0 to me it’s easier this way than to do the hop thing front the 50-50, hope this helps 👍.

    Try to learn them on something small, so that the fear of turning into the ramp sorta blind isn't too much of an obstacle to overcome. Once you get them good it's almost impossible to hang up anymore.

  • @glaswasser

    instead of doing the hop you can also make sure your back truck is hanging into the ramp so it's only hung up with the wheel, then you can basically do the same as backside, kickturn out.

    What is the difference between the 50-50 and the Axel stall?

  • @Sjur_sm57

    @Sjur_sm57

    2 жыл бұрын

    The 5050 is a proper grind (Trucks gliding across the coping), and the Axel stall is just a stall. What you see in this video is an Axel stall. Other than that, the trick is almost identical.

    This trick is my nemesis. I can do FS Smiths and 5-0s but I always get f*cking hungup and slam on 5050. I do try to hop/ollie off the coping but that doesnt appear to work for me. Could it be that I am just too on the deck and should be more leaned into the bowl?

    This is an indicator that you don't hop enough for the drop. Try practicing rolling from the deck into the ramp in an angle so you get used to that hop motion. for me it fells almost like an ollie without pop. Remember its not a kickturn, so dont focus on manualling in, stay light footed.

    I've done quite a few of them already, But after the 3rd hard slam from them over a year, I just gave up ever doing it again. I need to just have time on a smaller ramp instead of having to do it on the bigger stuff.

    Call it as it should be called: a FS Axle Stall. You gotta move that Axle Stall in order to call it a "50-50".
