I know how to do the front flip now
Tucking with the gforce momentum of the flip is mostly in you abdominal muscles. So any core exercises, as well as hanging from a bar and bringing your knees to your chest are a great exercise for building strength for the tuck.

The safest place to start learning movements and flips is at a gymnastics gym, but if thats not an option, just starting out with the basics, and slowly progressing. I started in my backyard with the aid of a mattress for padding.
I failed at flipping, landed on my butt, and I couldn't walk for 10 minutes Lol

I don't see why anyone would dislike this. Anyway, thank you for the video! I'm going to start free running after I learn parkour rolls, vaults and landings, and I really want to do some flips too. The only thing is, I don't have a trampoline to practice on and I have actually NEVER flipped, at all, ever.
I went to a trampoline park yesterday (to try out some stuff), and I finally got the front flip in the bag! At first I failed but then I realized I needed to tuck my knees, and it started to look better. After 45 minutes I was landing on my feet and then after a few jumps another one. So, thank you so much Ronnie, your videos have helped me and so many others get better :)

I don't think it matters which flip you learn first. The front flip is safer to learn then the backflip. And learning one flip doesn't mean you can do any other flip, they all work differently and take practice doing each one.

A couple tips: 1. Play motivational music with a speaker (worked for me not sure about u guys) 2. Know that you are already halfway there with the knowledge 3. Realise, if you jump high enough, there is zero chance you will land on your head 4. RUN FAST 5. Visualise the point you are going to frontflip, and run up to it 5. (best tip) buy an exercise trampoline you know the tiny ones, try flips off that into grass Hope this helps anyone who is having trouble and GOOD LUCK!

Sounds like you need to push Up more, so what works for me (and I have above average height on mine) is to run pretty fast, punch, and just as you take off swing your arms up hard (called a "block") then bring your arms down and tuck, wait until you're around and land, a good arm swing upwards is key, hope this helps, good luck

Make sure you jump first instead of just going into the flip
This videos really helped me out
thanks Ronnie, I always landed on my back for a frontflip and I was always scarred, now I over come the fear of a frontflip on I could land it ever time, I was happy but know I think about it I just tell my self it just a frontflip
Can girls do free running? Course I've always want to do it but I'm not so sure on it

Parkour is for anyone. Just practice and you won't hurt yourself. It like football/soccer, it's anyone's game but you have to practise to get good.

Wow... I had a really unfair advantage. I have extra long tendons, so that punch makes me go flying! Haven't landed it yet though D:

same, except I can do it. My flip is over by the time I'm at the peak of the jump, that's how high I go up. I'll measure it some time to see how high my vertical is

0 Hah, yeah it's pretty high. Jumping isn't everything n a flip though, it's just a nice advantage. Keep at it and you'll get it soon!

I can't do it on sand but I CAN do it on grass, trust me the worst that can happen is you land low into a crab walk.
@STR202

Grass is about the same. If anything you can get a far better set and jump on grass depending on if its dead or not. Find the greenest grass and flip on!
tank you! This is king sports, the parkour!
Thanks for the tips
I think I have an advantage because at my doctor checkup he said I have extremely muscular legs. Lol idk though, I'm 13 now but could once flip when I was 10.

Muscular legs could help him jump higher, which would definitely help because he doesn't have to rotate as quickly.

Barry McCociner yes he can
is there a change that you will land on your neck then get paralyzed for your entire life. Thats what scares me from doing this
@marionmoto8269
8 жыл бұрын
It's not likely that you will land on your neck. If you don't get enough rotation than you land on your back/butt. If you over rotate it you need to roll out of it.

He was landing on his back every time but it was actually quite scary, because it looked like he was going to fall on his neck. But he was a massive guy so if you don't weigh like 85-90 kg nad you're agile you're gonna be fine. But I suggest trying on a matress. Flips only look scary
