Love the "multiply by zero" conversation. So much wisdom in knowing when to say "no". Doesn't get talked about enough because we're a "yes" culture, but saying "no" to one thing is saying "yes" to something else.

I agree, but there’s a weird paradigm at play. No one gets to the level of success that Phil attained without working hard..... But he’s known as The Gift for several reasons. One being how well his body responds to training and gear. Phil famously had to work out less hard than other competitors. He could go off season for a period, then go on cycle for a couple months and just explode with muscle, way easier than most people can

Hes achieved a lot in his life. Hes got extreme levels of confidence and self belief. He talks like a champion of bodybuilding. Hes smart articulate as well. U cant expect a person like this to fit or to influence others opinion. So people can feel that he comes across as agressive but , Honestly i feel phil doesnt get enough credit for what hes achieved. People need to stop nit picking on the way he speaks or portrays himself and just need to learn from this champion life. Concentrate on the things hes done, and u will be inspired. I wish him a great life. Go Phil ❤

To hear Phil Heath describe how he dominated with his preparation starting at 1:16:36 is inspiring. I imagine that he knows his body better than anyone else and for him to recognize right away that the methods of others would be stupid for him to replicate demonstrates incredible accuracy with his view of his needs at the time. Awesome to watch this man nerd out about his different modalities and living in Denver, Colorado for the increased altitude stimulus. Sounds like he thought of everything!

I have a new appreciation for Phil Heath after watching this. I guess I never realized what an intelligent, introspective human being he really is. His story is both tragic and uplifting. The tragedy is that he wasn’t allowed to just enjoy his success without all the negativity manufactured by people who didn’t even know him. The uplifting part of it all is the inner strength he possesses that allowed him to focus, and refocus, and channel all his energy into manifesting and creating his own destiny. I have been a fan of bodybuilding since the 1980s and I admit I was never fully invested in Phil’s reign. There is no disputing his greatness as a champion bodybuilder but now I do t think anyone can question his greatness as a human. I am thankful that I had the experience of watching this and hearing his stories. Good stuff!

This was kind of a breakthrough interview for me. It’s the first time that I’ve ever found Heath to be relatable, probably because he didn’t seem angry, something that always seems to be simmering just beneath the surface with him. This time he seemed honest and sincere without that rough edge that made him difficult to watch. And by rough edge I mean that prior to this he always seemed very defensive when asked any question at all, as if he was afraid that everyone was out to get him. As for the interview, I thought the questions were interesting and about the things that bodybuilders want to hear, and I thought his answers were honest and sincere. He finally came across as a regular guy, something that I think will endear him to bodybuilding fans like me. Reply
