@@SnowboardAddiction I used to teach this to my beginners that were afraid of toe side, show them how to feel their edges and look intentional about it. Also makes for easier wipe outs and recovery. Great skill to master!!

If you work at keeping your hips forward and body more in alignment with the board, and bend with the knees more instead of at the waist on both toesides and heelsides you'll be more balanced over your board edges and have more control during carves.

Eurocarve usually implies a laid-down carve, so i think the name just does not fit...

If anyone has a different suggestion for naming the trick or knows a name it goes by let me know! I just wanted to make a tutorial on my favourite carving trick and needed to call it something for filming haha Also if you have a clip of yourself or someone else doing this trick send it to snowboard addiction. I haven’t seen anyone else do it, and would be stoked to see how it looks with someone else’s style🙌🏻

While it looks fun to do, and I hope riders go out to do this, I would not call this a euro carve, or have euro carve in the name. Google Peter Bauer euro carve and you’ll see that a euro carve is when your fully splayed out on the ground with your hips touching the ground as you carve. In fact, Snowboard Addiction actually has a tutorial on how to euro carve and what you’re doing looks nothing like it. That doesn’t mean your trick is poorly done, I’m just referring to the name. Technically, the type of carve you’re doing is called a Revert Carve (without the falling leaf part). Google Ryan Knapton Revert Carve or search on KZread. Lastly, you didn’t invent this. Many riders have done something akin to this. I hope this helps. Good tutorial otherwise! Keep riding!

Thanks @deanvaladez You are 100% correct! Taevis knows a lot about snowboarding but when it comes to proper carving terms he is still learning haha. Our new video format will be much less off the cuff this year, so we will be able to get his terms dialed in which should help avoid any confusion in the future:)

But I got sent it and it’s a great comment, you might want to copy past it since in a new comment since it may be glitch and it’s good information:) I’ve been snowboarding for awhile and just sorta assumed the terms me and my friends use are correct. I’ll learn the proper terminology so that people don’t get confused in my videos in the future! Thanks a lot for your help and support🙌🏻

Great insight, the meaninglessness of the falling leaf carve is what brings out it’s beautiful nature. bringing complexity yet finality. Knowing that 1 move will destroy all the power of gravity and earth, taking away your precious speed, and with it your pride. We wouldn’t go as far as calling it truly pure theatre, but we are happy that it was so thought provoking for you.
