Nice approach and line-up to the runway. I could not imagine trying that at night, with fog, with wind, with icing, and with a plane full of real people. The real pilots who do this have balls of concrete and ice water in their veins. Great job!

I have a friend who has to make this flight quite often (he's a cold weather gear distributor) and he's told me horror stories about this approach. One time the pilot had to make two go-arounds because of the shifting winds. The aircraft would make 50 foot changes in altitude in a second. The third attempt was the charm, and they landed. He said the entire cabin was just sobbing and holding each other and when they finally stopped, it was like a wild party. He said he was hugging and high fiving total strangers. They closed the airport for two full days following that fiasco because of the weather. He found out that there was a 22 knot wind gusting to 40 knots and had a directional variation of 90° LOL imagine that! The wind direction would change from 270° to 180° in a few seconds! That would test the most stalwart of passengers!

I first visited Innsbruck in 1972 on trips from Lech-am-Arlberg. I then flew in and out on Flight-Sim since about 2000 and I love the place. But your Vids add something really special; along with your PMDG vids. I have never seen it done better. You not only do it for your own enjoyment, you clearly have a talent for making vids and at 05.00hrs, I want to get up and fly it now. LONG may you continue making these vids and taking us all in the cockpit with you. All the best Froogle.

Well done froogle, that was an incredibly informative and educational set of videos, I've just watched all 6 and am personally just about to tackle the PMDG Tutorial No 2 myself. Had it not been for your videos mate, I would have spent about 10-15 hours of discovery so you have saved me loads of time and I'm looking forward to replicating the whole flight when I can. Eye candy videos are nice to look at but the truly exciting videos are the ones that immerse us completely in our hobby. Cheers.

Thanks for creating this, so far I have run the Gatwick to Amsterdam a few times and am happy with that. Innsbruck will be my next challenge your vid has really helped me understand what to expect and what I need to do in the last few mins of the flight.

Continuation of my previous post: I obtained my first PPL in the year 1968 (no spelling error) and I flew this approach many times but with much smaller aircrafts and it has always been a great challenge and a thrill. Please carry on, You are on the right track. Many happy landings Gunther

Great Video! Very challenging indeed! Your effort to produce these tutorials is greatly appreciated. I look forward to the next when you can. I hope the best for Tony and his family. He is an excellent contributor to the magazine and I was quite surprised to learn about his wood working skills. His furniture and wood items are extraordinary!

Tried it last night for the first time - disaster! Just had to watch how it should be done again this morning before my next try. Can't wait until I can do it as well as you do on your vids. Keep them coming by the way and thanks for the time and effort you put in.
