How to Fly Fish the Wooly Bugger and CATCH BIG TROUT!

Ойын-сауық

Fishing in New Jersey is world class whether fisherman want to admit it or not. From 50lb striped bass to massive trout, Nj fishing has got it all! On this mission I trek out to a river I trout fish alot, however explored a new stretch. I had my greys 4 wt 8 ft fly rod in hand paired up with the lamson liquid reel. If you guys have been following along with the videos you know that when it comes to fly fishing I go thug style with some 6lb trilene for my leader and a big ass wooly bugger only. No nymphds no problem. The biggest trout want meat and you gotta give it to them! I sent it quite a ways upstream with no bites and finally at the last spot of the day I got a BIG bite! Easily my biggest trout on the fly to date! 24 inches and all of 6 lbs! A fish that would make anyone question how it could be in Jersey! They're out there you gotta find em! Keep casting and #neverendthesend

Got a question if I'm just gonna be throwing wooly buggers. Can I just use straight 8 pound line instead of a tapered leader. I've read some things on reddit that you can

Question, I saw your fly fishing video with 1rod1reel and you said you just use 6lb trilene and no tapered leader is that 6lb tied straight to the fly line and how long of a leader are you using

I usually eyeball it. 7ft probably. I just make sure it’s not too long to cast and also not too short that the fish will see the line. I would say 7 is a good inbetween. Maybe 7.5 if u need more leader line for streamer fishing

Look for a beadhed woolly bugger. Depending on depth or stronger current I will use a woolly bugger with a beadhed.
