Thanks, a bad fuse was my problem. Bought a pack of 4 for $5.00 I now have extra for future problems. NOTE: My scoter used a 7.5 amp fuse, the one in this video was a 5 amp so take the blown fuse to the auto parts store for correct one. Amazing, such a small part disabled the whole scooter. Happy to say, a quick and easy fix.

Recondition them and charge them up and it will work again..I bought two for 50dollars recondition the dead batteries I have two for sale now..

Mine is lighting up and beeping but won’t go.! Does it do this if it just needs a good charge?

The trick to charge an over depleted battery is this. A dead battery draws too much current. Replace the fuse is it’s blown. Add a high wattage resister in series with the battery to reduce the current and start it charging. After it gets a partial charge you can remove the resister. Be careful wattage has to be high and resistant low, maybe 5 ohms or so.

i have a gogo ultra x scooter. just bought new batteries, and the meter guage on scooter says very low battery (one light bar lit up) and beeps twice, which means low battery. but when i test the batteries with meter they seem fine. what would you recommend? ty

@@healthyamerican Make sure all your connections are clean and tight. You might have a drain or short somewhere along the way.

Do all of the Go Go Elite Plus HD’s have two fuses and is there a screw holding the blac box down. My daughter bought me two new batteries awhile ago and it hasn’t really stayed charged since then . I will charge it overnight and it will look on the thing like it’s full charge and when you start riding it will go down to 3 or 4. My key thing was coming up when I took key out so I unscrewed it and tightened it inside and it didn’t help so I was watching your video it looked like you also had a fuse underneath the black box but I can’t get it up . Is there screws in the black box that holds the batteries in it.

How do i open the case? I get the 6 screws out, but the 2 at the back in the center dont come apart. There does not appear to be screws in them but they have a rather start shape plastic post. ?

Good video. I thought my batteries were fried. It turned off going up a steep hill. It wouldn't charge. I checked the fuses as you suggested but they were fine. I was looking for new batteries but then found the circuit breaker. Who knew, I do now.

Check continuity of the bad battery, if there is no dead short you can boost it with a good battery for a brief period to get enough voltage in it so that your charger will recognize it and begin a charging cycle. I've done this and recovered 100's of batteries this way. Even ones that were sulfated. Just repaired two swagtron hoverboards this way that I picked up at a thrift store for $20 a piece. The more I use them, discharge and recharge, the more the range increases. Granted they won't be like new but they last about an hour and a half now compared to not even turning on or a charger even recognizing them when I got them home. It's worth a try :) Just be certain the old ones don't have shorted cells by checking for continuity across the terminals.

Lead acid is really a lot more recoverable than we are led to believe, although once they corrode and short out they are done. I have restored car starter batteries to useful life with a solar panel and a cheap pwm charge controller. (Days and weeks of trickle charge.) I also keep a cheap wall wort style plug into AC lead acid trickle charger around. Lead acid sucks for deep cycle, tho. Go with lithium. It's cheaper and better. The problem with lead acid is, it likes to be a 100% charge all the time or it will sulfate. Lead acid doesn't like to drop below 50%. Lead acid sucks. They make Lifepo4 replacement batteries and it is NOT more expensive than lead acid. You can use the same charger if you have to, as long as you uplug the lithium as soon as it is charged up and know that overcharging and float charging is deadly to lithium. Lithium likes to hang out around 40% when not in use and that will actually make your battery last longer. You can use a timer to help prevent overcharging. Uplug before you go to bed, that kind of thing. The scooter industry does not want you to know how easy it is to switch to lithium and I find lithium chargers expensive or hard to get specifically for scooters. They sell them in kits only for certain brands etc. I have seen cheap lithium charger onTemu with the right plug, but voltage varies. You can also get cheap lithium ion battery packs off Aliexpress and they sell cheap enough chargers with. Depending how the batteries are arranged and which lithium chemistry you have, what voltage of charger you need.

The Velcro holding the batteries in the battery box are holding them so tenaciously that I can't pull them out. What do you suggest?

Have the exact same unit before buying new batteries I pop the lid off the old ones they were bone dry slowly added to still water into them and put them on a low slow charge for 2 days they bubbled up real good and now run almost as long as brand new ones you don't always have to throw away the old battery

Sealed lead acid batteries there is no lid to remove. If you do you ruin the battery and break the seal.

I followed your advice and discovered atleast one of the batteries have swollen indicating an overcharge condition. I will probably replace the batteries and then the charger with something that has better over charge protection.

Good video, but I'm working on an old Zoom 220 that has sat unused for 10-15 years. I replaced the batteries, and the fuse is good. But all it does is "click" in the reset button. The horn beeps, but that's it. Could something have deteriorated in that unused time? Thank you!

Make sure your transmission is switch to engage if the wheelchair is making electrical connections the horn beep such as your transmission is not in gear find a switch if you can push your wheelchair and it moves around freely it's definitely not in gear once you engage the transmission you'll be able to use your wheelchair.

I have a Jazzy Scooter that I plugged in the charger and I push the green button on the joy stick and Im not getting no lights to come on. Both lights on the charger come on. But the charger use to get real warm when it was charging but it seems cool when I was trying to charge the scooter. Do I need a new charger and new batteries?

Will it hurt to charge 12v 10ah batteries that say charge rate 1.5amp with a regular car batt charger that's 8amp? I'm a noob with scooter batts.

Have you tried daisy chaining them with some good cells meaning a good sell one of the old battery cells a good cell an old battery cell positive to negative negative to positive and then at the end putting the charger to the dead cell or vice versa hooking it up to the good cell completing the daisy chain through your old and new battery cells it might be a way to trick it into registering a charge like cordless drill batteries

If you have a battery that is relatively new and won't take a charge after a 100% discharge (dead), try using jumper cables and hook up positive to positive and negative to negative to a good, fully charged 12V car battery. Leave it connected for half an hour or so. After that, there is a good chance that you can hook up a portable battery charger and the battery will now "take" a charge. After half an hour, I like to leave the jumper cables connected to the car 12V battery, then attach my charger to one of the batteries, in effect charging both batteries up at the same time.

I have used 12 volt solar panel of at least 20 watts and a cheap pwm charge controller. Those wall wort trickle chargers might work.

Charge shows charging and does turn green if fully charge however when I disconnect and put key on no power in scooter. No idea what is going on.

I work privately with mobility equipment-I routenly work with the GoGos, I have several, actually that I believe that the controller is bad on, I've got brand new batteries, all fuses good, still absolutely no power......do you by chance know how to test the controllers?

If they don't want to take a charge you have to pop the top off and take the little rubber caps off the cells and fill them up with distilled water using a basting siringe put on charge for a while and I bet they come back

my older pride gogo traveller elite has new batteries and you can run for hours and they are still good. but get on a steep grade or hill and it becomes such a load that the circuit breaker shuts down the whole scooter and we have to reach down and reset it, and walk the scooter up the hill. very discouraging. what can i do to solve this..thanks

My wife’s did the same thing. I took it apart and cleaned the contacts with contact cleaner. It’s been ok so far.

i see these batts on ebay to 30 bucks for 1 but his batteries are 18amh the replacment ones are 35 amp hour batts and there 60 bucks a pop so look carefully

35 amp battery (deep cycle or trolling motor batteries) will not in those boxes. They're too large.

I have a go go that stays charging (red charging light) for days, never quits now. What does it mean? Scooter works fine, battery dies sooner than normal! Please advise

I have a powercar mobility scooter. New batteries, fully charged. Charge indicators drops to have when starting to move. Charge only lasts for short distance. All wires seem to be intact. Any suggestions?

Drops to half and down to yellow and red on inclines such as ramps.

Just got a road knight mini, 3 wheel scooter for my partner. We bought new batteries and the scooter works fine, except it will not charge. Anyone got any ideas. The charger has a single light that is supposed to change from red to green when charged, but just stays on red. Tested the scooter when we got the new battery pack and the scooter itself and the battery work fine.

Trying to fix my mom's Pride Maxima. We had the batteries changed and $345 later it's still not charging. The chair works but when I plug in the charger it won't start to charge. I checked the connection a d everything is good and we had it at a shop where he said everything in the mechanics like the tiller was good. Not sure what to do next. Any ideas?

Test the continuity in the charger thru the cable plug. Always be sure that the motor locks are in the drive position BEFORE turning it on.

@@myk602010 Figured out that the fuse for the charger port keeps blowing. So as long as we change the fuse every other time we go to charge it then it is fine. Not sure how to fix the problem permanently though.

The lower the battery charge level the more current it will draw charging. Try to charge before it gets too low.

Get those batteries for around 13.50 each at your local Locke Supply

Pulse charge the batteries but 1st take tops off and top up with distead water then discharge to 9v and charge should egenerate the battery to 80 90%

AGM batteries must be charged with correct charger. Also fuses are rates in Amperes not Volts

Two batteries to operate two Motors to go long distances. And some scooters you may have only one motor and still it needs to battery to last longer. The controller uses very little juice.

Series sum up 24volts and amps remains the same. Parallel voltage the same and amps sum up.

Try to hook up a drill battery to it with wires then try to charge it again

those are not AGM batteries -they are regular run of the mill sealed lead acid. AGM would be a hell of a lot more than $32.

Because there are screws from the bottom of the box holding the batteries down. You need to remove them before the batteries will separate from the box

Have a golden companion scooter. It comes on but will not go. Green light blinks 3 times then pauses for 2 seconds. Anyone out there help me??

p;rided are c rp fortress way superior i have had a fortress for over 5 years use it constantly summmer and down to -5c winter, changed tires twi ce $400 incl wheels house visit by tech cause they wore out still same gel battteries, kept in garage when not in use i plug charger in evedry time i retur n to house. charger supplied by manuf. bought it used $350 carrying weight for scooter is 400lbs

Lighting up I think is the term you're trying to use. Make sure the XLR connection from the charger to the joystick is good. And that the cord from the joystick to the battery chord has a good connection also. But you may need a charger. So go on eBay and search Mobility wheelchairs or scooter chargers 24 volt 4 amp charger is pretty good for most chairs. You can get the proper one which may look smaller than the one that comes with a Pride scooter/chair for about $21.

@@myk602010 wait! a 12volt charger may not work because the scooters typically use 2 batteries wired in series i.e. 24 volts , the amp rating will relate to the amount of time charging 2 amps will take doble the time a 4 amp rating i.e. overnight or more. maelo60

@@ismaelmartinez2347 yes the output of these chargers is 24V, I just didn't realize it. What I had in my mind was that if I had the batteries out, I could use a 12V car charger.

I owe you an apology! I had said it was stupid to buy new batteries instead of charging the old one with your car charger! LOL! I HADNT LISTENED TO YOUR ENTIRE VIDEO! I went back after not being unable to get mine to charge and heard you say you had tried all that and they still wouldn't take a charge, I did the same and also was unable to get them to charge@ SO AGAIN I APOLOGIZE!🙄😔

Any lead-acid that has been sitting in an uncharged state for a long period will have damaged cells. They even deteriorate over time when charged and discharged perfectly. Ultimately new batteries are needed, but often you can get a bit more life from the old ones, though they won't hold a charge well and will die at some point.

InTheNameOfJustice ...ok , let's bring you back to reality for a second. This is NOT a scam. this is the evolution of batteries technology. Lead acid batteries in e-bikes are exactly the same. Never ever empty them !!!!! it says so in the manual for God's sakes !!!! Lithium Ion batteries DO NOT DO THIS and are way way better but they've only really been hitting the market in the last couple years you know. If you buy a cheep affordable model then you will get Lead Acid batteries NOT Lithium Ion. add $700-$1500 or more to a vehicle ya know.

The scooters old batery that has less voltage then 10.5 volts the original charger will read that low charge less then 10 and half. . then that original charger will not put charge into the bateries . probly a scam of the manufacturing they want you to buy there batteries . i took both of my low chargered dead batteries charged them up with something else higher then the 10 1\2 volts then put baxk in the batery cach . then the original scooters charger then worked & and charged the bateris . when scooter left alone not used not charged up . by siting not used . day after day month after months them bateries will drain all the way down to shit . it whont charge not

No! Go to apexsuperstores.com create an account look up your chair and you will get a variety of different batteries for that chair. You'll see 12v 35ah or 55ah batteries. You'll even see 75ah batteries. This is the cheapest place I have found. I've been buying batteries from them for months. Depending on what day you order them you can get them in less than a week.

First of all this is not a scooter I don't know why you people put that in your descriptions this is a handicap or a somebody a disability cart this is not a scooter. And also any time these people want to tell you how to fix your scooter they're not specific they try to act like all the scooters are the same you you yourself down to an area on that mobility cart and say underneath here or there whatever and that's not applicable to First Vault nothing on there is applicable to it Kick Scooter

+Teresa Rivero check the fuses. Something is not allowing the current to get to the circuits. So first check is your ground, then your fuses, then the wires. In that order.

I currently have that problem and I discovered it's the controller/joystick. The contacts on the circuit board inside under the power button may be old and corroded to the point where the Board needs to be replaced or just the whole unit. There are in line fuses on the cables to the batteries and 1 fuse on most chairs or scooters near the reset button. I'm working with someone on eBay to get aboard or a controller right now. A controller can cost over $300. With due diligence and a little research you can find parts for these chairs & batteries much cheaper than the big suppliers. I can get a joystick right now on eBay for $85 and that's for a Pride chair. Good luck
