I opened the control, washed everything, including the plate with soap and water, then dried it with a hairdryer. Now it's working perfectly.

​@@geogeor6038u can pull it apart forcefully(as in the weird edges that opens up the remote control, pls remove batteries while soing so)

Still can't get my LG remote to change the channels. It does everything else, but won't change channels, even doing your steps. May have something to do with Comcast/Xfinity, which is what I have. Any suggestions?
