It's funny I'm a natural speaker of the language, also speak English and Spanish so "rolling the R" is not difficult at all for me. But as brother Wissam correctly pointed out, if you think too hard about the subtle nuances you could very likely mess up. JZK my brothers for your continued efforts. Gotta just let it be, naturally (whatever that means haha). But you can do it put yo tongue into it. Edit: Something thought up just now: The Arabic language is cursive form, so the letters are tied together for most words. Similarly when speaking it, especially with Tajweed, the letters are connected. The prior letter and it's sound connect flawlessly into the next letter. When br. Wissam asks, "does the 'daal' intrinsically bounce?" I feel that one must keep in mind this connectedness to better understand what he meant here. Yes, even if the letters are separate, just like the "ra" in the word "qadr", it's still ONE WORD. So bouncing off the 'daal' lands you onto the 'ra'. Kind of like a roller coaster takes you up & down the track to get to the highest & lowest points. (Hope that didn't confuse you more & that it made sense lol)

The qalqala is there. It's just not as seemingly heavy as when you stop on the letter since you're continuing into the ra, which is where the waqf is

If the last sound your making for the ra is from the throat it is totally incorrect “Ra needs a growl,” this is misleading. ‏من طرف اللسان مع ما يحاذيه من اللثة قريبا من مخرج النون ‏ينحرف الصوت بها من جانبي طرف ‏اللسان إلى وسطه
