Guys, this fixed the issue (that OP also had) for me: 1)Go into command prompt, move to Windows/System32/config 2)RENAME 2 FILES: ren SYSTEM system.001 ren SOFTWARE software.001 3)run the system restore like the video shows Worked that way for me

After uninstalling intel rapid storage technology, my computer goes BSOD and unable to boot and the system restore next button is grayed out too. Good thing this video helps to make the system restore work properly and now my computer is back from the dead. Thanks brother for the big help 😄

Unfortunately I got the same outcome as yourself but thanks for trying, you've helped plenty by the looks of it Can I ask, did you ever find away to sort it or did you just re fornat,?? I really don't want to do that as I've paid programs on my pc and would have to re purchase them but if there's no other way, I guess its the only thing I can do

Sadly, I needed to reinstall windows. But paid programs should not be bought again as long as you have the serial key or the login information that the license is linked to.

@@UltimateDIYYes , I've done the same and just about completed the full installation , I have another hardrive so I've installed a fresh copy on that , checked my hardrive of the windows that wouldn't boot and all my files are accessible thank the lord . I've mailed the company I bought the software from and waiting on a code for my software I have re installed thanks

Most paid programs if you save the original email used to get that program and you contact the author they will resend you that program after checking their side and see if you are a legit customer. I had Xplane12 resent to me as well as Cyberlink22

This fix worked for me: rename two registry hives in C:\Windows\System32\config via CMD ren SYSTEM system.001 ren SOFTWARE software.001 Then run rstrui again. Good luck

@@UltimateDIY let me explain to you what I see on my screen so basically there is no windows like I can't physically open us all for it or I can't even go to web browser it's on the screen where it says all those options like recovery is basically the screen that you're showing on your computer in this video but what I did was when I was logged into my PC I remove all my files and it took me to this green then I went to recovery and then I recovered it but I deleted it again so basically I deleted every single thing so basically now I'm stuck on the page that you're showing in this video and now I can't use my pc at all I really need help so if there's any way I could contact you could you tell me

Can someone help me, when I try the rstrui.exe command I get a pop up saying ‘this app can’t run on your pc’ - to find a version for your pc, check with the software publisher? How do I get it to work

Can you help me I accidentally uninstalled my audio driver then I restarted my PC without installing the driver then suddenly my PC went black screen after restarting and without cursor. I already done the system restore still the same blackscreen without cursor

I had exactly the same problem, restore did not succeed due to the registry couldn’t be restored, for those facing this problem, this fix worked for me: rename two registry hives in C:\Windows\System32\config via CMD ren SYSTEM system.001 ren SOFTWARE software.001 Again thanks a lot, you gave me the first steps into the solution.

Could you please explain how to get to the above? Do I need to type exactly as you did in command prompt? I can only get to it via recovery as my pc refuses to boot and loops straight into recovery

Yes, using the command shell from the recovery options,, you need to change directory (cd) to the one stated above, then rename (ren) both directories. Afterwards follow the procedure from the video to restore the last good know point
