I suspect it would work! If you have the same error and problem then if it doesn't fix it.. it can't get much worse anyway :) Make sure you get the right firmware file from the HP website; the one from the website for your correct model number printer! Good luck; I hope it works for you.

It doesn't have a USB drive to plug a memory stick into so I am afraid without one in front of me with the problem, so I can figure out how to solve, I don't know how to fix it.

Happy to have helped :) it was difficult finding the information to recover the printer so decided a video might help others!

unfortunatly the HP OfficeJet Pro 7720 doesn't have a usb-a port
