Love your videos! This was super helpful. I have an issue that I never see much info on. I have hair that is super grey/white at the from but dark at the back (about a level 6) . My hair is currently bleached to level 9/10 (toned with a champagne/pearl toner). My hair feels super damaged these days so how do I transition to something less damaging. What kind of colour should I go if I’m kind of a zebra? 💕 white at front/ dark at the back. Would love to see a video about us greying folks xxx Thanks for sharing your wisdom and beauty. Stay safe and healthy 💕💕💕

Understanding basic theory of how toners work: Look at a color wheel. You will notice these colors across from each other: Purple across from Yellow (blonde undertone)..... Green across from Red (brunette undertone).... Blue across from Orange (self-explanatory)..... Those colors cancel each other out.

**This comment needs more ‘likes’! It’s basic color theory that doesn’t change whether your art is on a canvas, a monitor, or on your hair - it’s All Art. Keeping it simple is key. Everything’s easy when you know how, ie: why you’re doing What you’re doing. By knowing what you’re starting with and knowing what you want to end up with will tell you how to get there. 🌹💙⚡️

I always learn something from your videos, thank you. I seem to be in two of your situations mentioned, covering gray and wanting to be a 6/7 ashy color. I am naturally a level 6/7 and am about 50% gray. Every color I have used (home or salon) always looks orangey. After watching this, I am thinking that I should bleach my roots and then tone down. What should I use as a toner?

I always learn so much everytime I watch your videos,Silvia! I wish I would of seen your links here before I bought all my products because I just bleached my burgundy red ombre hair... I only bleached it once but I used colour off first. I used Schwarzkopf BlondMe (I recommend anyone reading this purchase Schwarzkopf BlondMe it's the best & there's a link in the description of this video for everything pretty much I used) after that & then because I still had a little red left I used Schwarzkopf highlift 12-11 & I did a root melt with dark ash blonde. It turned out really good I didn't even need to tone it & my hair looked healthier than before I started surprisingly. I did add Olaplex to both the colour off & the blondeme bleach & I used 20 volume and when I mixed the volume because my hair was already so light from the colour off instead of adding 2 parts of volume I added 2 and a half with the olaplex. But my hair was already an 8 and even a 10 in some spots cause I had an ombre with light ends. I was focusing on the stubborn red at the top which I was kind of worried might not come out cause my hair is so porous. I left everything in a long time to process & used a hair dryer bonnet that I got on Amazon. I used to always go to the salon but I suffered a spinal cord injury on my neck & I have alot of spine issues along with Lupus. So it's really hard for me to sit in a chair for hours let alone have a mask on the whole time. I'd rather do it myself & take my time at home it's so much easier plus I feel like my hair gets less damaged cause I can really baby my hair when I'm doing it. BTW Silvia great video as usual and thank you for sharing Bondiboost on Instagram. I ordered the blonde baby trio & Repair Repair set. Great products! ❤️

Thank you for this explanation! When my roots come in, I have 25% white hairs mixed with my natural tone which is 6 ashy/neutral brunette and I use chromatics 7n + 7 ash on the roots then I tone zones 2 and 3 with some pretty ashy Shades EQ...but i haven't been able to achieve the ashy tone I want and now, finally, I understand why! Unfortunately, I don't want to have to use bleach, so I will have to figure out what I want to do now.

I've been pulling them out, and honestly my naturally hair has streaks that make it not too noticable, but I would like to keep my hair basically the same color and have a wash in shampoo/dye that just covers the grey. Maybe I can wash it in in the shower every two weeks or so. Is there anything like that? I thought I saw a video of wash in color that you put out a while back, but can't find it. Thanks!

Hoping you see this and respond. I have my license, but I got out of the industry and its been a couple years. My BFs mom has heavy grey roots. She has been box dying. I have been using 6NBR from Redken. Her roots take weird and then a few washes later it matches the rest of her hair color. Her minds to ends need a refresh and I can use the shades EQ, but I am afraid of how it will turn out. Should I use another 6NBR in shades? I have to look at the line to see what they have. Can I not use the cover fusion of redken for the mids to ends? Roots first and then come back for mids to ends?

It depends on what type of brass you have just go directly across on the color wheel. But any demi color will offer shine

I know this is a yr.old video Sylvania but I was wondering how to color hair at home after hairstylist tiger striped my hair with brown, red and white blonde. Help! Can't go to another stylist because of quarantine. Can I use Clairol nice and easy (medium blonde) over roots then rest of tiger stripes as roots are medium brown with some gray. Your suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.🤔

At 4:03 you talk about using a toner to “stain” the hair. My question then is, would I use a volume 10, 20 or no developer with the toner? That part wasn’t clear to me. Thank you.

My virgin natural hair (level 6) and fresh cut is no where near the light blond I want after 2 Session. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY!

Im brunette but my roots are bleached to a level 5 and they look very brassy, would an ashy toner make it look more natural and dark blonde?

I am a natural brown and my hairdresser has gotten me to a silver ash with black roots. However we keep getting a rusty color between the silver and the black. How can we get rid of the rusty line of color between the two colors? My hairdresser says there is nothing we can do about the rusty part between the two.

The beauty store said: "purple shampoo made for (blonde hair)", said it works just as good on (brownish/auburn hair) that will (remove yellowish goldish white hair). Is that true or false? For use on Natural non color auburn/ brownish hair.?????And will it brighten up the white hair???
