How To Fix The Speedometer/VSS On A Subaru WRX

In today's video we show you a way to fix your vehicle speed sensor for when your speedometer isn't working because the sensor is bad. In some cases just the sensor is bad and needs replaced but in our situation it wasn't that easy. So we found a way around the VSS that is cheaper than pulling the transmission to have it rebuilt. www.iwireservices.com/ Here is where to get the controller box and harness we got.

A bit off topic but i was helping my uncle build a subaru for my cousin 02 wrx 5 speed, we put a jdm version8 engine wire harness is from 2004 wrx but automatic, everything is done accept the is no connector for the speed sensor from the 5 speed is there a wiring diagram i can use so we can get odomiter and speedometer working ? Wont pass emissions without it
my 09 tribeca threw a p0700 and 0720 codes. would this eliminate that all together?
Which iwire harness is this? I have exact same issue on my 04 STi and thinking of doing this exact thing

I still have my 5 speed in, but the little plastic gear also broke inside for me, can I still use this wiring system on my 5 speed transmission?

I believe so. As long as it has a transmission speed sensor and a wheel speed sensor it should work
The box being near the shock tower. Isn't it too hot near the turbo which gets pretty hot under there! Is the box okay with heat near it?

Didn't have any issues with it for the year or so it was in the car before it got sold
im kind of in the same boat but instead the new transmission i have got doesnt have a speed sensor location. i have a 07 wrx that im swapping a JDM Spec B (TY757VBABB) in. Im thinking/hoping that i have to do something similar to this because it would save me a whole lot of money and fairly simple. do you think this would solve my problem?

Should solve your issue because this plugs in line with your wheel speed sensor with no need for a vehicle speed sensor in the transmission. As long as your car has wheel speed sensors and they're working this should work for you

Did it work? I’m thinking of getting one of these for my 04 fxt. I’m trying to throw a legacy gt trans into it but the vss is in the hubs on legacy’s not the transmissions

Just threw a legacy gt trans in my 06 WRX, they went out of stock so I had to wait a week to order a vsspro. Let’s hope it works!

@@aarond5504 Is that Legacy transmission you installed in your WRX stronger as in the gears? I ripped apart and sheared my 3rd gear. lol What year did you use on that Legacy? I might get one of those bro

I believe the launch control through the Cobb worked normally

@@jackwagongarage mine lags for 5 mph 10 jumps str8 up its not normal but I also have vacuum leaks
The trouble in acceleration is not because of check engine light is on😂😂
