Hey ive been asking arnd i have a 07 sti it is rwd swaped and has hub in the trans and in hub for axle but the pronlem im haveing is im getting a p0502 code which i assume is because the wheel speed is diffrent from wut the trans is reading but would you have any idea of how to fix this

Anyone know where the VSS is located on the 5 speed transmission?

One Week? Damn, I drove my 02 WRX for about a year like that (staying under 4500 rpm's) Now the car has been sitting (b/c I had to find a leak that filled my rear passenger back seat floor pan w/ water) and I have to swap the speed sensor soon (I thought it was the cable on the under/driver's side of the transmission) I had a trans replaced and not long after, this code started popping up Anyway, this should be much easier. Thanks for the video/instructions 👍🏻 Oh btw -- can you elaborate on the piece that broke off? I could not really tell on video, but did you notice the piece was cracked when you removed it... so u searched in the hole? I do not want to pay for another transmission job.

Is that for a 05 legacy..

My VSS in my 02 Bugeye snapped off last night while trying to replace it. Speedo was working properly but threw the P0500 code. Was probably just a bad contact that needs to be cleaned. Which I'll be checking shortly. But now I have to drill carefully to get the old VSS out of the trans.

When you say cut power and check engine light came on, do you mean engine died? I have a 2000 Trooper that has a PO502 code and it randomly kills at intersecion. Not often, but enough, and its dangerous to be in the middle of a left turn and she dies... Any ideas?

So vss put my car into safe switch mode?

What if it’s automatic and it’s eroding P0502

I changed the input sensor and still having low voltage. Any tips? No one has any input..

car through out p0500 and speedo sork fine gears go in smoothly so im not sure what the problem would be

my code says P0500 would it mean the same

This isn't where I parked my car...

If my speedometer doesn’t work would I notice anything else happing to my car.?

DriveItRyan well the same code popped up and my speedometer isn’t working, my accessport isn’t even picking up any speed when I’m driving so I was thinking maybe that sensor you switched out or maybe the wheel speed sensors but in your video you said the problem was in the tranny.? So then there’s no way it’s any of my sensors?

Carlos Alvarez the vehicle speed sensor is located on your transmission. The gear may be shredded inside, but it’s best to pull the sensor and inspect it first.

DriveItRyan yo what’s up! Thanks for the vid! So real quick, any ideas, tricks, or magic to remove the VSS that I cracked trying to get out of my girls 02 WRX Bugeye? It’s seized inside the trans hence why it snapped. I saw a vid where a guy drilled three small holes to break through that o-ring, then he was able to kinda pry it out, and to be cautious about getting anything in the trans of course. I’m about to remove the IC so I can have more room and maybe have more leverage and also might have to remove the exhaust to work that angle as well. Any knowledge on subframe replacement on the same vehicle? Simple unbolt/bolt on? Have the engine kinda hoisted with cherry picker? Or 2x4 and racket strap before disassembly
