Let’s talk about how to fix the adrenal body type.
Your adrenals help adapt the body to stress-they have a lot to do with fight or flight. However, this system is meant to deal with short-term physical stress, not the chronic mental stress many people undergo now.
Trauma, chronic stress, or even surgery can lead to adrenal dysfunction. Adrenal dysfunction is also known as adrenal fatigue, adrenal burnout, or adrenal stress.
Top symptoms of adrenal fatigue or the adrenal body type:
• Low-stress tolerance
• Overthinking (especially at night)
• High blood sugar
• High cholesterol
• Fat in the liver and visceral organs
• Gastritis
• High blood pressure
• High pulse rate
• Asthma
• Inflammation
• Calcium deficiency
• Potassium deficiency
• Sodium deficiency
• Vitamin D deficiency
• Memory loss
• Brain fog
• Getting out of breath while climbing stairs
• Salt cravings
The best nutrients for adrenal burnout:
• Vitamin C (sauerkraut, bell peppers, leafy green vegetables, lemons, limes, and berries)
• Potassium (large salads)
• Sodium (sea salt)
• Vitamin B1 (unfortified nutritional yeast)
How to fix adrenal fatigue:
1. Decrease stress
2. Get on the keto diet with higher amounts of high-quality protein and nutrients that are good for adrenal fatigue
3. Exercise (high-intensity exercise and long walks)
4. Take adaptogens (ashwagandha)

I have just come out of 18 months of stress, fear and worry, shame and guilt. A dark night of the soul, but, I am lucky I had tools to survive. I was in a bad way though, eating crap (high carb and sugar) I didn't give a fig for my own health and fasting went bye bye. I am thankful I had a diabetic crisis, hospital with outdated medical procedures for diabetes (dextrose and insulin) I was teetering with potassium and magnesium deficiency and circling the drain after my whole system went down... 4 months later... I am almost normal 1980 normal, I am eating right, walking, fasting, mindful, and about to learn how to heal my darling little adrenal glands. I was the classic Cushing’s syndrome body type. Through a proper human diet I removed the roughly ninety extra pounds I was carrying. After they found my muscle invasive bladder cancer they found the tumor on my adrenal. A suppression test showed it was putting out extra cortisol. Removal corrected my metabolism with a tremendous improvement in health. Not only physically but also mentally.

The clue for me was my high fasting blood sugar. I fought tooth and nail that I wasn’t insulin resistant. I got those useless diabetes talks. I kept telling them I ate less that 20 carbs a day. I guess they thought I was lying? Anyway an Adrenal Center in Tampa consult with a world class surgeon had me on the table on Valentines Day for removal. I believe it was messing with my metabolism. Dr. Berg--Thank you for this confirmation of what is so true about us burnt out overworked people, but not clear to our clueless "healthcare" system. This is exactly what happened to me with stress--I'm more awake at 2am than any time. A major loss, grief, horrible break-up, head injury, surprise pregnancy during peri-menopause, and caregiver for a dying loved one....serious overwhelm and burnout. Developed multiple autoimmune diseases....ZERO help from the medical system.....clawing my way back to some measure of health after a decade of ongoing pain and disability--trying to follow your advice...using herbs, diet, meditation, and a LOT of PRAYER. Also working on forgiving myself for not figuring out how to be made of steel. But still suffer terrible insomnia--sometimes don't sleep at all for 36 hours at a time even after hard physical work like mowing the lawn with a push mower or weeding the overgrown garden...it's hell to lie awake exhausted. Never sleep more than a few hours, not for years.

I have had adrenal fatigue for over 20 years. I had twins in 2001 and they were delivered by emergency cesarean at 28 weeks. One was released at 6 weeks and the other at 4 months. Both had apnea monitors and the one that stayed in NICU for four months also had oxygen. And I was alone. I also had severe anemia and pneumonia when they were delivered. They are now 22 years old and I am only now feeling alive again. But for so many years of no sleep and no help and dealing with a school system that was clueless was a nightmare. And I have a 22 year old that was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at 12 months. I am a full time caregiver. 24/7/365. It comes in phases though. I feel good for a while then bam I’m down again.

Excellent Dr Berg, thank you. That pounding when I lie down to sleep is an issue sometimes. And I swear by sea salt in clean water. Not too much just a pinch or two during the day. Just a note to all, meditation is not something we do. Its something that happens naturally w/o effort when we sit in stillness (no sound, no drink/food, take things out of your pocket, low light) and breath. And place your awareness in/on your body, especially where you need healing.

My previously healthy newborn regressed into "autism" after her MMR. My body immediately went into fight or flight. Anxiety so profound that I couldn't eat, sleep or think about anything else. When I did fall asleep, I would wake suddenly and run to the bathroom to vomit. Having not eaten, I could only retch. I lost a pound per day during this period. at my lowest, I weighed 82. At the time, I didn't have any idea that my adrenals were fried. Shortly after, I noticed that the outer corners of my eyebrows were disappearing and that I had a rash, or discoloring just below my neck and above my collarbone.I later learned it was Hashimoto's, an autoimmune disorder. I gained weight and now have hypertension and a typical cortisol body. I went on KETO during the pandemic and lost 30 pounds, had more energy and a better outlook than I'd had for a long time. Unfortunately, I had a setback and went off Keto, but I'm going to get back on, for good this time. Thank you Dr. Berg, this video was the impetus I needed.

I absolutely can relate to every single thing you've said in this video. It all started when I was a 24/7 lone caregiver for my elderly parent with dementia. The stress & isolation was unbelievable & I could quite literally feel my health slipping away. When the caregiving ended & I went back to work, I ended up having to take a job working nights. At first it seemed ok but the past few years having to constantly buck my body's natural Circadian rhythms is taking its toll. I've gradually acquired nearly every symptom on your list...especially not being able to tolerate stress & people who half-@ss their duties at work.

Boy has this hit home! I worked a very stressful job in legal for 20 years, as well as being a single mum. So I was stressed to the max alllll the time. Suffered from severe headaches which I later found out was from sugar, but I heavily medicated on opioids to cope. Finally got out of that situation but years later went into another major stress episode when my partner and I built our own home with very little money, and used some very unhealthy coping mechanisms. I’m now dealing with the negative effects of all that in my 50’s, but thank goodness for Dr Berg, Healthy Keto and natural remedies. This information here, today, is the key I needed to truly get my health back. Thank you Dr Berg 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 The first description of low tolerance to stress is me in a nutshell 😂😂😂 Cannot handle stooopid people, slow drivers …..

Wow! This video described all the symptoms that I have! Thank you soooo much! It was very informative! I recently tried eating all plant based because I have seen some health summits on their theory and was trying to lose weight. Instead I gained a lot of weight quickly but it makes sense because my body is already converting my foods to sugar and then add a predominantly starch based diet and I ballooned. I’m going back to the keto way of eating. It’s so confusing with so many doctor’s opinions that contradict. That adds stress around eating too 😢

Sir, you hit the nail on the head this time 👍 The world we live in today is a lot more stressful in general if you pay attention to anything. I need to work on things to lower stress- including meditation, which I don't do enough of, outside of a normal God-consciousness. I could probably get up after 4 hours sleep at 2a.m. and start my day but I know that wouldn't last a long time before I got fatigued. Obviously 4 hours sleep is not enough.😢

For the longest time I thought I had thyroid problems (always tired to the point I could barely function, bad brain fog, craved sugar like crazy, could never shut my brain down at night, close to morbidly obese). I went to a couple doctors who tested me and said I was on the verge of having hyperthyroidism. That didn't make sense. They were both supposed to be holistic, too. One wanted to put me on testosterone. No thanks. I finally found one who said, let's test the adrenals. Turned out (I don't know the unit's name) I was making 3.8 units of adrenal whatever he tested when the minimum was supposed to be 14. Well, there's the problem. He put me on some vitamins that really helped. I will add your suggestions to the mix. He never explained all this like you're doing here and I really appreciate the information. I want to go the natural route, I don't want to be on medicine that doesn't cure the problem.

Yup.. It’s rare that adrenal fatigue gets diagnosed but it does happen. Ironically both me and a colleague were found to have adrenal problems. Very hard to find it. I collapsed at work actually so landed in emergency room with a good practitioner. Lots of other health troubles, also executive function challenges, eventually a couple cancers, auto immune, diabetes, digestion issues, more. Wrote on this before. Found out I cannot detox chemicals well, so that caused, causes, major issues. Was fortunate to have run into some helpful practitioners. Adrenals improved with some herbal treatments and stress treatments. Quite serious situation now with work lack and loss of home. Doing what can. Years I couldn’t walk up stairs and spent nights in kitchen or days upstairs. Much improved but worried about recurrences of many issues due to lack of funds, help, self sufficiency. (Simple test with flashlight and pupils might be interesting for people to try).

@@russdadog look into whole food vitamins/supplements by Standard Process, it sounds like you might have nutritional deficiencies, especially vitamin B's very very mportant for your nervous system along with magnesium glycinate and vitamin D3/K at the very least. Cataplex B by Standard Process is excellent. Also look up Dr. Stephen Stokes on KZread he may be able to help you if you email him at no cost he's awesome DC and very knowledgeable! Also IF really does help, not easy at first but once you get thru the hard part of adapting its amazing to help you feel better in my experience Good luck

@@russdadogmy suggestion isn’t necessarily “The answer” since what I know is still very limited but I would seriously consider talking organic psyllium husk everyday . It is meant to help your health overall but one of the first places you’ll feel it is in your bloating in that you’ll have less and less of it as time goes on. If you have a community tab I can suggest specific videos with a specific name . It seems sometimes comments get deleted for no obvious reason so I don’t want to mention the names of them here.

It's a shame how many medical professionals seem to have zero interest nor knockledge on finding the cause & only treat the symptons ( if anything!! ) You are a true gem, Dr. Berg & your work is paramount!! 🙏 Thank you so so much & stay blessed!!

I feel that I definitely have adrenal fatigue. I am under a lot of stress because I am always in pain.Ever since I was diagnosed with Scleroderma, I slowly began to lose my temper and my tranquility. I get so frustrated that I have become disabled that I am limited at the things I can do. I can’t swallow foods well, I can’t bend down, and the list goes on. My skin is very tight and that limits mobility. I have learned so much with this video. Thank you Dr. Berg.

I just started reading The Healthy Keto Plan. It's so enlightening as to why I feel the way I do. I was diagnosed by my naturopath as having moderate adrenaline fatigue 5 years ago. Now after being a caregiver for an ornery parent for 7 years and doing intense full time ministry for 5 years, plus working a full time job I feel that I've gone WAY downhill. I'm exhausted all the time, my childhood asthma can't be controlled, my legs and glutes constantly hurt and feel weak, etc. I'm grateful that Dr. Berg took the time to put this video together & write the book so I can start to figure out how to heal.
