Super helpful video, thank you. I don't know why i didn't think about it before, avoiding the problem is always better than having to solve the problem, in this case sanding off the texture and the minuscule resulting seams is better than having to fill them up with a bunch of different things. These type of videos are very much appreciated. Do you have any recommendation on how to sand off with the dremel the textured side of a piece that is quite large and when trying to sand the middle of it you are forced to tilt the tool and end up with an angled uneven surface?

Swirox if I need to sand the middle of the foam, I'll use my black and Decker mouse sander. Just be careful not to damage the other side of the foam. The sander creates a lot of vibration, so if you're not careful, it can result in damage to the opposite side.

Thank you for the video and the great work you make, I love it! What grain nr. do you use for the sand paper when dremeling the edges? I tried 80 and 120 but does not look neat and soft.

I've seen from other people that they use 220 up to 320 grit sandpaper to make it look good. If the dremel doesn't have that type of bit, you can either sand it by hand with a sanding paper or stick, or use a dremel grinding bit. Apart from that, heat sealing the foam with a heat gun also improves the softness and look of the sanded edges. You can find out more about these techniques on EvilTed and Punished Props yt channels, check for Tools of the Trade video in Ted's channel and Smoothing Foam edges in Bill's channel. Usually they use various of these methods and not just one in order to achieve the best results. Hope that helps!

I use 120 grit up to 320. It all depends on how much material you need to remove, and the type of finish you will be applying.
