Hey Guys, in this video today, we look at the causes of rain water entering the boot of my 2009 Honda City, as well as fix the leaks at my local mechanic shop.
The Honda City 3rd gen, is a great car but 11 years later, there are a few niggling issues, water in the boot/trunk, being one of them.
This video will help all those who find water seeping into the boot, in finding a permanent fix.

This is a gem of a information. My mechanic suggested the method of opening up the whole car interior to check the leak which is something I am skeptical to do. I have a Polo 2014 model and water is clogged in trunk and entering cabin floorboard

Glad you found it helpful buddy. Check the water drains first, then the points in video. Try a different mechanic also, this guy might want to make a quick buck by doin an interior tear down

Very true!
My honda city becomes a well. I remove almost 2 buckets of water. Fed up of the rust but the engine is gold!

We have this leak issue since three years and the Honda garage used to fix something. This time even after keeping the car for fifteen days, they have not fixed the issue.
I too have a 2009 Honda city and the same problem of water entering boot during rains. A total mess..
Same issue in my City. The water is entering from both tail lights. More from the right side.
Whqt was the cost for the total process?

Looks like a door seal, or window seal
Would a faulty seal from the windscreen cause the back seats to wet as well?

The same in my city 2009
Even I have same problem in my maruti ciaz which is 4.5 year old.
Same thing happened with my laura repositioning the rubber fixed the problem 😂

Yep. The bottom edge I have taped it with insulation tape and re-fit the boot rubber with some rubber spray. The leak has stopped now... Felt it was not significant to make a video on this again...

My 2010 Genesis has this problem and when the water enters the trunk it somehow gets into my rear floor boards inside the car.

Beading was between 1.5k to 2k. Not more than that. Replaced at Honda
If the backlight is broken will the water get inside

Yes. That is also a possibility. If lense is cracked, water will enter the light. If housing is damaged, water will get inside the boot.

@@franjon5350 have you checked the points mentioned in the video? If not the 3 points, check for rust under the beading - where the roof meets the door sill
