Help. My problem is different. My Pen drive I was using for last 2 years, is not recognized by my PC now. But that Pen drive is working alright in other PCs. I checked with all other Pen drives in my same PC, it working alright and recognised by my PC. What to do ?

Thanks. Mine didn't work until I moved it to a third usb port ! The device manager hint was useful because that's where it showed itself and I realised it was working.

A typical reason as to how this happens, is when a thumb drive is formatted by Rufus for a new windows boot device. When used to install Win 11, it landed up being a 'C' drive. This happened to me. After doing a new windows install, it was no longer showing up on old computer. It was because it had become a 'C' drive. Changing drive letter as mentioned in this video solved the issue.

Hello Dear, My USB Flash is detected by the computer for almost one second and disappeared. Even it shows in the system tray. Not showing in "This PC". In disk management, it shows as Disk 1 (E), but inacative. I tried it in DOS, but It shows with no media. Please help.

Try restarting your computer and reconnecting the device, running the Windows USB Troubleshooter, trying a different USB port or computer, uninstalling and reinstalling the USB device and controllers from the Device Manager, installing the latest chipset drivers for your motherboard, and installing the latest Windows updates. If none of these work, your USB device may be damaged or faulty and need to be replaced.

I guess your pendrive is formatted to fat 32 file system maybe you should try to change its file system to ntfs so it will allow you to transfer more than 4GB at a time... But unfortunately ntfs file system won't work with androids. If you want to use that pendrive on android you should leave it with fat32. You can view whether it's fat32 or NTFS on properties of that pendrive.

No 1 cause is actually the thumb drive itself being broken.

My pendrive shows connected in icon bar below but not showing up in 'My Computer' nor in 'Disk Management'

Yes I also noticed this, which is very common, often formatting if possible it still creates problems.. I've come across software that supposedly solves this problem, but it only seems to work very occasionally and even then after a couple of uses of the pen drive the problem comes again.. I found that using an old win xp laptop I was able to format anything something win 10 and 11 had major problems doing. I've put this down to the many security issue's that were resolved by later win o.s but made problems like this harder to solve.. Anyway yes, despite the mention of virus issues nothing was mentioned about it

@@RecoveritDataRecoverySoftware Thanks for the answer : Well it's strange, now when I insert any pen drive or sd card (new also) it says : Insert disk to drive E: If I open the Manager it sees the volume but it is not possible to format it or anything, even in CMD. (where I tried multiple commands and nothing worked) I Removed and installed all usb related drivers on the device manager, i've tried to restore to an earlier point before the etcher, I've tried a usb hub, I went on the Bios and tried different usb options, and more... But when I connect a external Hard-disk-drive (with an actual disc) it reads it without problems! Only solid state media is not getting read. I tried all options I was able to find online using Chat GPT and dozens of tutorials like this (BTW this was one of the best). So any ideas? I am desperate because I use sd cards a lot and this problem is forcing me to use my main pc less. I find myself recording what I want to an external HDD, connect it to my laptop and from there write to any SD/Pen or read.

Still not showing and my Pendrive heats too while I connect it to any PC,Laptop or any other devies

@@RecoveritDataRecoverySoftware I used to work on dark web with that pendrive having goldfish memory on it and a bootable pendrive+ a normal pendrive, it was a 3 work based pendrive but suddenly one day it didn't detected in my laptop and whenever I plugged it in it starts heating and goes to an insane temperature that can cause a Massive blast, the pendrive has one USB port to connect and a TYPE -C port to connect both of it are not working and it's heating insanely...

My USB flash drive is not detected at all meaning that there is nothing shown in device manager whether the USB flash drive connected or not connected to the computer
