HOW TO FIX PAINT RUNS ON FRAME. Painting hack on motorcycle Café Racer subframe

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Ever wondered how to correct paint runs after painting the frame of your motorbike?
Well, that’s exactly the problem I encountered after spray painting my Café Racer subframe.
So I made sure to have the paint rock solid by drying it in the oven and I busted out my razor blade sanding paper to correct those paint runs.
If you wonder I wet sanded with 600 grit sanding paper only and then resprayed.
When that was done and back in the oven for a perfect finish I soldered bullet terminals on the new LED taillight that will finish my Café Racer rear end.
So let’s go ahead and make that bike LOOK COOL!

loving the series so far! i have one suggestion about the audio levels of the video, when you cut to the music, its much louder than the recordings of you talking and explaining the process. keep up the rad work! im in the process of buying my first bike to do the same thing!

Thanks for the feedback, I really improve that sound level discrepancy in the last videos so the music isn't piercing your ears anymore 👍

That taillight/flasher strip worked great for me. Only complaint is the wires are too small, and its a pain to solder. In hindsight, soldering bullet connectors may have been a better idea. I cut the stock plug from the stock light, soldered the tail light wires to the plug, and plugged that into the bike.

Yes Joseph! Those wires are super thin, I had to be very meticulous when I handled them! And the heat shrink tubing wasn’t easy to do because of the size difference between the bullet connectors and those thin wires. I like your solution using the stock plug though. Yamahas from those years like bullet connectors so that’s what I did, but I was thinking about changing things up to 1 waterproof connector with multiple pins

Tristan Durand Builds thanks. I got this sub frame. But the tank has a firm’s top issue I need to figure out.

Are you keeping the original tank or you’re swapping that?
