How to FIX (not replace) Stepper motors in 2002-2007 GM Truck Instrument Cluster
Applies to all models 2002(?), 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 of Chevy Avalanche, Silverado, Tahoe, and Suburban, GMC Yukon and Sierra, Hummer H2, Cadillac Escalade and Escalade SUT. Basically everything....
Post-Test update: the motor for the Oil pressure sensor is functioning much better, but I was lazier about the Speedo one. If I had applied the same treatment to the Speedo stepper I'm sure it would have worked. I already ordered the replacements and I'll just throw one in there, as it's much easier of a job.
The PRNDL treatment worked like a charm, even though I didn't show it, I should add that getting rid of Mararget Thatcher's unleaded solder™️ made it work like a charm.

Haha, I am absolutely the same. Sure the parts are $10 and will be here in the morning, but I'm going to tear it apart and fix it this evening. Love seeing someone else get more in depth. Appreciate the video, Absolutely earned a sub from me.
thanks so much for the vid bro. really came in handy
I removed my cluster to add an led backlight as all mine have long stopped working .... i pulled the needles off & then later put them back on they all worked b4 now none worked right after but a few days & the the tach started working a bit .. ideas ?
Hi I replace my lancer stepper motor using an aftermarket one, but the problem is it run in reverse, any idea how to fix it?
So what in this motor could cause the speedo to read twice as much as actual speed? My odometer is measuring correctly but not the speedo. Thanks
At 2:52 I gasped. :D
Thank you for sharing this video.
I tried many times but couldn't catch it - what was the part about the resistors?
*What about a 2002? Does it have these stepper motors?*

Hey quick question what happens to hydrogen gas when you feed it into a ion thruster?

@@coxfuture Is the videos coming ? Would be cool.
Why didn't you test before putting back
Didnt show any fix. Please try again.
Maybe a plastic tweezer would work better
Interesting but was getting seasick watching it and didnt finish. you should redo this video and get some one to hold the camera steady, this could be a very helpful video.
Uh. Uh. Uh. Uh uuh
Dude! Buy a tripod!
If he would take out about 1000 UMS! And go to speech therapy you could understand his his voice
You don’t know how the motor functions why would you even try to take it apart and if you don’t know how to functions, how can you even give a constructive video and this is only constructive criticism

If the presented method solved the presented issue, it's a valid solution. You don't need to be a farmer or present a lecture on agriculture, to show someone how to peel an orange. This is a video about fixing a specific issue with these stepper motors. It's not a lecture on the electromechanic design and engineering of oddball stepper motors, nor does it in any way present, claim or need to be.
