I would also press Delete at the beginning of startup, go into BIOS settings and disable the onboard graphics controller there too, but doing it in Windows first sounds like the best way to begin disabling it, then again you may not be able to manually disable the onboard video on some BIOS, only having the "Auto detect PCIe" or "Onboard" options to choose from.

Help guys I have a hd7970 ghz edition 3gb and when I connect it through hdmi it says "hdmi power save mode" but when I connect my older hd6870 with the same hdmi it works just fine although the hdmi i's quite long probably longer than 6foot. Once it worked but then when I put pc on sleep mode it the display never worked again and kept saying hdmi power saving mode.I v tried everything took the ram out took the mobo battery out unplug cables but not working .The last time it worked again was few days ago when I tried a different pcie cable but I doubt that made it work,I think either I'm having problems with my gpu hdmi port and I should try dvi dual link cable instead and hopefully it works, or my gpu is on its way out but then if it was dying I don't get why did it worked perfectly twice. I got the card given by a friend btw. Tried to connect it to my tv amd it says no signal check the device power connection or something like this.Any help would be appreciated..

Lol I’m not very tech savvy but I’m learning, I’ll tell you what bro, I disabled those factory graphics and turned off my pc, plugged it into the GPU, said a prayer.. and it booted up running off the GPU no issues! This did not work for me…. What worked for me: 1. Boot pc without Gpu (motherboard or integrated graphics) 2. Open BIOS (press the small delete button - not backspace- repeatedly) 3. Go to advanced settings 4. Click Integrated Graphics Configuration 5. Change PED to IGD 6. Close and save changes 7. Turn off pc 8. Plug in new gpu 9. Boot as normal

I'm a newbie forgive me but if you do your method does that mean you lose the hdmi function of the graphics card? Or you will be able to reuse it after installing driver software ?

I just installed a new gpu and cpu to my pc my old cpu had graphics but I took the old one out so would the graphics still need to be disabled even tho I already took my old cpu that had graphics out and replaced it with one that dosent have graphics?

Hey guys answer me, In my VGA card there are 6 pin and 8 pin, i just plugged 8 pin(6+2) then my VGA not detected, i had disable Intel hd, i did like he said and it's not working😭(fyi my psu is 450watt but my VGA GTX 570)

Hey, if you figured out a solution for these please let me know. My GPU displays sometimes but it will stop displaying once I shut it down and turn it back on or change the hdmi. Sounds similar to your issue.

To anyone who still have this problem after doing what he said, try to "UNINSTALL YOUR RAM STICKS AND INSTALL IT AGAIN" with your GPU installed. I know it doesn't make any sense since the problem is with the GPU and your computer already detected your ram sticks before, but this is what I did and it worked for me. I installed my GPU, the fan was running but there's no display in the monitor and can't even boot to bios. So I opened my PC case, didn't remove my GPU but removed both my RAM sticks and put it back firmly again. I hope this works for you. Cheers.

mine boots all the way to the login screen then the second i hit login the video kicks off. now, i use remote desktop to see whats going on and yes everything is working except no single to my tv. now (while still using remote desktop) i uninstall the nvidea driver and now i have video but now no driver. wtf is going on?

I have a nvidia geforce gtx 1060 6gb and i upgraded to a MSI ventus 3x geforce rtx 3060Ti. I was told you can just install it and when you power up you get new drivers and install them, then restart. When I install it, it powers up but when windows loads on and makes the sound, the graphics card fans stop and there is no graphics, just a black screen! Help! In fact I reinstalled my old card to search for a remedy.

So what if you don't have integrated graphics in your cpu and you have this issue?

What if I put the gpu in and it doesn’t work? And I’m stuck with no graphics and I can’t get back In to turn it back on?

I installed a new gpu and the pc stopped posting. The cpu fan starts and then stops couple of seconds later but the gpu fans are spinning. Getting no signal. So installed the old gpu back and the issue now also occurs with that gpu. I also tried usinf the on board graphics but still wont post. Not getting any debug leds and the cpu fan stops. Psu is rm650w gold rated corsair and new card is 3060ti. Old card is a r9 270x.

I have got to thank you beyond what words can describe..I have spent numerous hours after building my first pc trying to get my GTX 1070 to work. The integrated graphics worked but had black screen when i plugged my power connectors into my GPU and started the pc. Spending 400$ on that and not having it work really frustrated me.

You have to use your built - in motherboard graphics. If you dont have them, and you having that problem, it means that tgere is some problems with yout GPU, PSU, and etc.

@Will Dison put your hdmi/displayport/vga into the spot of where the INTEGRATED Graphics are. once you do that, install amd drivers, ALL OF THEM. shut down pc. now put your hdmi/displayport/vga back into the gpu. then open the pc back up and hopefully it works.

Always check cables first. My monitors hdmi port was dead, tried 2 cables but none would work. VGA-to-hdmi was fine. So it's worth having more than 1 type as a backup. With graphics cards, sometimes it's a clear cmos thing, other times you have to enable in bios manually, and sometimes it's a power off, disconnect cord, hold power button for 1 minute and then power up again.

With the card powered up I was getting nothing to my monitor. Couldn't get it to show up in the devices. Very frustrated and close to quitting I did what you did and bam. Fixed and working. Thank you this worked for me! Guys disable the adapter for the GPU like he did in the video then turn your Pc off. Install your GPU but instead of your monitor cord (HDMI/VGA ect) contention to your mother board, try connecting it directly to you GPU. Well that worked for me ;)

But that's the issue since I don't have a display port nor dvi I can't get a signal from the motherboard no matter what I do from my experience the motherboard only works when you configuete your gpu my old one had a vga but since I don't have the right cables it doesn't work

AYO BRO HELP ME OUT RN GIVE ME TIPS AND TRICKS MY BRO.

Did you connect the same DVI cable to the monitor too because i have a DVI that i connected to the graphics card and a VGA that i connected to the monitor but my screen keep on entering safe mode, my CPU come on fan works fine but nothing on screen, so if i connected a DVI on both side will it work.

This fixed my problem after a few hours of research, thank you very much!

This video is 2 years old. But work like a charm. Starting to panic get black screen after install GTX 1070 to my Rig. I tought that the motherboard have problem or faulty GPU. But simple click disabled solved my problem. Thanks mate

But what if the pc dont show anything before windows boot? How disabling integrated GPU at windows solve the problem if my computer is not even showing anything before post (when HD is not even detected and so windows wont influence how pc run)?

nabam hina papu yes I did, I think that I updated my display adapter in the device manager and after that it would recognize my gpu. but that wasn't the end, cause it had like a Hazzard sign at the side of it (at the side of the name of the gpu) so I updated that and I was done. I forgot to mention that in the bios I set the display output to the igpu, I placed the card inside the pc, and after it was running off the igpu with the gpu in, I did what I mentioned before. sorry for the bad English

Mine did this after taking out gtx 960 and installing gtx1080. I can’t however use a motherboard display slot there’s not not an inter grated display. So how would I sort this out ?

I have a Radeon RX480 Windows 8.1 on an Asus P7P55D and and i7 Chip, So neither my board nor my chip have on board graphics.. Yet I'm getting black screens randomly.. I once got a white screen, HELP!!!

Alright so my problem is very light compare to the other underneath. My msi logo shows up during start then becomes barely visible. But you can still see it. Then normal log in shows up. Thats the start up part. Now the games i play doom once I'm in story or multi i hit tab key it goes completely black i can still do the same stuff its just a black screen i have to hit alt and enter to get it to window mode for me to see what i am clicking on this never happened before. But once i installed new amd driver shit went down hill. Any ideas

i get a BSOD when i installed a gpu msi gtx 1060, had to press CTRL-L to create a raid disk as none of my drives are raid specifically, strange!!!! if i don't enter the bios or the raid management thing the bsod comes out over and over without putting the PCIex16_2 in x2 mode and not x4 as it was by default, the pc won't boot

You did a good thing here. Out of the loop for a bit on PC and don't know how to do anything that's not bios based.
