not helpful AT ALL. my mouse is on, the light is shining bright on the bottom of it, I plugged in the USB, but the cursor won't move when I move the mouse. the touchpad works but it's hard to use for me. I tried both USB ports but neither work. can someone help me? I don't want to waste money on a new mouse if my current one still works. it's connected to my PC already. it's an Insignia Wireless Optical mouse.

DuckeyNation I went to Best Buy to get help because I got the mouse there and the employee said the metal spring thing was corroded and it wasn't reading the battery right. I've decided to get a new mouse on Black Friday

no way i found a way i think so do what he does in this video update the thing and after at the top there is like a little magnifineglass which is scan for hardware softwares click on it and i think it will update it and work i litearly tried it now it suddenly works noway!!! hope this helps

Hey. Great video. My mouse has stopped working on my XP desktop. I have tried 3 different mouses both using serial and usb connections. Nothing. The control over the mouse that WAS working, started fading and giving more and more issues everytime I booted up the computer till finally, it stopped working 100%! Can you tell me how to find the mouse driver on Windows XP? I followed your steps but there was no "mouse" selection under device manager folder.

so just melt your mouse by throwing in fire

Everyone if your mouse has a new battery and is in good shape this method will mostly work! Try taking the USB and bending it a little while plugged and try moving your mouse. If the cursor moves then the problem is that the chip inside the USB is to far apart. So what u can do is slightly bend and remove the USB from the laptop/ desktop but make sure its still pluggdd in because the computer and the chip just need to recognize theyre connected. Hope this helps also u can put a little piece of paper in between the chip to elevate it a bit but u will have too remove the back part of the USB to do so. Hope it helped spread the word

Tried that, and Win 10 still doesn't recognize my sharkoon mouse. Deleted driver and let it reinstall again, still nothing. I had this before a year ago and after a few days the mouse started working again on it's own, now it doesn't work for a week. It happens after windows updates.

So have a mouse on my laptop that is sometimes not even recognizing the mouse. But it seems to be recognizing it again However now going online it goes to the bottom or top of the page which is really annoying. I started using a wireless mouse. I would just plug in the USB chip and then boom everything works. I used it for a few months, my touchpad would work at the same time. Yesterday I unplugged my portable mouse USB and now my touchpad mouse works on the locks screen, but once I unlock my computer it stops working. Also the portable mouse stopped working. The reason is because it automatically switched the settings from the touchpad mouse to "other pointers", but I disconnected my portavle mouse. Does anyone know how to fix
