@@grant.1810 Yeah you're right and at times i thought I should do and I also don't game so its in my favour but well its kind of embarrassing but I've got the surface book 2 from Microsoft. Basically I paid to get windows and its functionalities with the surface pen, dial and detachable display. That's what restricts my choice. Also from what I heard, linux is very command oriented and I'm not exactly aspiring to become a programmer so I dont want to go through the mess of writing every line to access something...

Just wanted to say thank you! I was initially bummed out because I tried all the steps and the store wasn’t immediately working after each method. I came back to my pc the following day and the the store was working again… not sure which method did it, but just a heads up for anyone who reads this in the future. Maybe give it 24 hours after a reboot and try again!

The delay is likely just due to it taking time to reinstall Microsoft store

The Windows Store works again after my computer is on.

Had a weird issue where the microsoft store, cortana search bar and a bunch of other apps were not working for months! I couldn't find a single thing that worked except method 5 that reinstalled all apps. at first I saw a ton of errors so I thought it wouldn't work, but after a restart, EVERYTHING was working. and I didn't even have to re log into stuff. HUGE thank you dude.

When I try to get points my score doesn’t seem to get higher ? It just stays the same

Non of these fixed my issue. But Windows Store not opening seems to be only the tip of the iceberg in my case since all of my Microsoft Apps won't open for some reason. But, if I'm not mistaken, method no. 5 should have fixed this issue too, right? I can't even run my Windows Update Utility correctly (it crashes when I try to install the only optional update I do not have installed yet). Still, thanks for sharing your knowledge. It seems to help a lot of people.

Thanks! It kept saying "Please try again later: Something went wrong at our end" i thought it was a server problem, so a waited for a few hours and tried again... then it said the same thing, then i tried the ws reset command because my region was correct.. Then it worked...

guys just reset your pc but keep your files if you want to. resetting your pc would delete all of your apps that you downloaded. i had the same problem as you guys and i just reset my pc and its working

Switching the region to United States instead of Puerto Rico (where I live) worked lmao what?. The amount of apps that had updates when the store actually opened was INSANE (over 50 apps). I’ve been having this problem for years now and couldn’t find a solution. Thanks my savior!

I can't believe that just through pure chance, I found someone else with the exact problem and situation I find myself in that just so happened to mention it got me a fix for a problem I've had since I got my PC. Thank you!!

the powershell worked great for me, I was playing around with the antivirus service and turned off the firewall too. for using the powershell trick u have to turn on your firewall. (also keep it on for those programs blocked in your system) nice vid!

I still can't believe how I have to rely on tutorials for this every single time I have to use the store. Such a shame that this is from the richest company in the world yet this stuff still happens. Thanks a lot for your help!

Tried all of these steps but they didn't work at first. What worked for me was doing method 4 or reinstalling microsoft store, restarting my pc and then doing method 3/reset. This is the only one that worked for me. Just sharing.

Thanks so much, I ended up needing to use the PowerShell to reinstall the store.

I kept getting an error popping up after running the WsReset command. In case anyone else has this problem, I fixed it by changing the security options on the WindowApps folder located in C:\Program Files Just go to properties of the WindowApps folder, go to the security tab, and go to the advanced options. From there change the ownership of the folder to your user account name. After successfully changing ownership and full control to your user, than try running WsReset again. This problem showed up in the first place because whatever account you're using to run windows on doesn't have the proper permissions to open the "WindowApps" folder. This is crucial because in order to run the "WsReset" command, the "WindowApps" folder must be able to be opened, but it can't be opened if the user who ran the command doesn't have permission to open the folder. Things like re-installing windows can reset the permissions of users, so maybe that's what happened to you too.

after doing the method 4 and 5, the logo is no longer grayed out but after clicking it again it does not work. all of the methods are followed word for word and nothing seems to work :(

wsrest didn't work, neither did method 4 as it stayed on initializing im using an ROG strix g edition now i can't use armoury crate and control what mode my laptop is on as I cant see the overlay for the performance mode switcher, i just have to guess which sucks also my RGB is uncustomizable now any help would be appreciated

Earlier Microsoft Store name was Windows Store. So you can search with that name. If you didn't find that either, then you need to re-install it. Open the PowerShell with admin privilege and enter this command- Get-AppXPackage *WindowsStore* -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"} Restart your PC and see if there is Microsoft Store. If it doesn't solve your issue then you might need to create a new user account.

If non of those fixes not working for you and you don't want to Reset your PC, you can try one more fix that worked for me, go to (C:) > Program Files > *Turn on hidden files*, *Find WindowsApps* *Right Click on this folder*, click 'Properties' > 'Security' > If not, set SYSTEM as Owner of this Folder. Turn on legacy and tick 'Replace the permissions values of the descendant objects with the permissible values inherited from this object'. Now it's should work, if not try one more time each step of those fixes on the Internet, if still not working, well you f'd up big time...

I've used Method 4 on no less than 10 computers in the last year (I own an IT business). It's the one option that seems to work every time for us.

When I use wsreset do I need to be on the window itself or can I do something else while its trying to reset

For the record: I followed it until step 2 and it showed an error.Then I followed step 3 and it completelly disapeared.I restarted the computer and still it wasnt visible.I was ready to reinstall it from powershell but I thought:Lets try to use wsreset again to see what error it is going to show now.And I begun to follow step 4.When I was ready to paste the command microsoft store opened because of wsreset.Thanks man.
