So sorry Michelle! Honestly about 6 months after making this video I upgraded to a Yale door lock and don’t regret it. The Kwikset was just a headache 🤕

I have a Kwikset Smartkey similar to this model. It would do the lock function but blink red 3 or 4 times after one pushed the lock button. I cured this function by using his procedure. A separate issue -earlier-the pad wouldn’t light up when pressed. Cured that by taking out battery pack and then putting it back.

Ok, had run Thru all the videos and comments and still “no workie”. With nothing to lose I blew the battery cavity out with air, the squirted a touch of wd40. Exercised the mechanical deadbolt, went thru these procedures and BAM. Works. I was at the “nothing to lose” point. I’m in FL with corrosive salt air. Good luck all.

IT WORKED!! My lock did freak out for a bit the first time I did it. It beeped over and over and locked/unlocked itself. But, somehow this method tamed the possessed lock and now it's back to being an innanimate object.

I tried your remedy and it worked...for a while. I noticed it malfunctions every month or so, so I've had to reset the lock a few times this year. I think this Kwikset's circuitry is burning out since it doesn't hold for long. Time to get a new lock, and probably NOT a Kwikset one.

I have a Kwikset Smartcode Deadbolt Lock. looks very similar to this one & it's such a pain. My most recent problem (today, 13 Dec 2023) I use the code to unlock it (it unlocks as it supposed to) but then continues to cycle over and over Click, click, click, etc. Hence, I need to find my screwdriver to undo the casing screws to remove the battery. It also randomly does this when locking. Last month I had to change the batteries less than 2 weeks old. It probably got stuck cycling when I locked it & I did not notice. I returned home, the smartlock is completely dead. Luckily, I can still gain entry through my garage. SMDH!!!
