Same here. I just added eyelets to my camping tarp, on location. Tarp is looking good and tight now.

Ha! 😅 Knowledge is power. I had this odd looking tool laying around home years ago and I threw it away... 'cause I could not find any use for it. Cutting in the fabric? I thought one makes a hole with an awl. That way you push the fibers away to create an opening instead of damaging the fibre.

There are some countries that do not have awls so this method is perfect and cutting won't damage the fabric if you iron on some interfacing. 😊

Interesting. I was wondering if this work on leather boots. I want to attach silver chains to each side of a tall leather boot and let them start from the top, draped across the front of the boot in layers to the ankle. Thanks for any help.

Good instructions. You just need to squash them more. Easier with hammer and 2 part tool.

Your eyelet needs to be flat against the material. The side with the interfacing should not be sticking up at all. You can flatten it with a hammer or setting tool, or just squeeze harder on the tool.
