How to Fix Helmet Head Seedlings
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Helmet heads can be a death sentence for young pepper seedlings. I saved up all my poor little helmet heads so I could show you how I try and save them from certain doom.

I love the narration, dramatic editing and the music lol. This was very helpful. Sadly, I have the full helmet head issue. Will have to do surgery lol
Thank you! Did this yesterday before watching the video. Was worried about my plants, but from the looks they will be fine!

Brilliant! Fingers crossed your plants do great!
For less than the cost of a cup of coffee you can be a sponsor of a helmet head. Your continued support will give these seedlings hope. Hope for a brighter future, a better education, clean water, and nutritious food. Won't you pick up the phone and call now? These seedlings are counting on you.
That was so tense watching that 😱
Thanks, very helpful
Thank you! I came here frantically after seeing my sunflower seed in the air after sprouting (I didn't know what helmet head was lol) I didn't try to touch it out of fear but after watching this it just came off very easily and the leaves were indeed there. This was a lifesaver cuz I probably would've left the seed there hoping it'd sort itself out 😅
Thanks for sharing this, soaking is a very good tip that I can imagine will make it a lot easier. I had a ghost pepper last year like the worst example in your video and without soaking the seed cover I OCD'd and spent hours on gently removing its hard, dry helmet using tweezers and a pair of nail scissors. It is true what you say that helmet heads can be saved though because that sproutling grew into a very healthy plant later on.
it helped me, thank you so much
LOLed 2 seconds in... hilarious.
Thank You
Appreciated 👍
I grow tree seeds for future bonsai and this happened to my Eastern Red bud. I took it off with my fingers gently the leafs are small but intact. Hopefully it pulls through.
I couldn't find the "next time" video about over-germinated seeds. Did that ever get created?
I just had 3 . Not peppers but i planted too shallow . It needs friction .

So I should bury my seeds further down in the dirt, then?

@@jenniferburchill3658 not too much but if too shallow the soil friction is not enough to remove the seed shell . You can ease it off but i use a 5mm deep min depth .
I've tried growing some peppers previously, had started germination in plastic bags with paper towels since they were older seeds. Ones that germinated I moved to potting soil and planters with a heat mat, but they failed to thrive. Was it just older seeds or is it just that I don't know how to grow peppers 😂

It could be that they were older seeds or it could have just been bad luck. Are you going to try planting some more?

@@daisydawes8231 I might try again on my growing setup this winter.
when you take off the helmet head and the tip is white what should you do
I made both errors, anddddd they didn't survive the leave reapnlooool
I watched another video in combination with this and just used my finger to pull it off after 10 mins of soaking in water.
I lost both leaves .. what now?
