Hey there, worked perfect! Microsoft just did an update so I thought that was the problem. Contacted MS support & they suggested a number of things. None worked. They wanted me to do a complete reboot of computer. Came here and found your solution. Thanks!

I have no idea how it worked but it did, thank you so much! As soon as I completed the step where we are invited to rename the Chrome shortcut into "Chrome1", Chrome worked again instead of just flickering one second and disappearing. Fyi, I was having this problem on a Surface Pro 8 running Windows 11. Thanks again, you are a genius!

A customer's Windows 11 computer ran an update and chrome stopped working. Even trying to uninstall would crash. Used CCleaner to remove, restarted, reinstalled, same thing. Renaming the executable worked fine. So weird. Microsoft needs to get their crap together.

you can also get away by going to the location like said in the video and then look for the installer folder there should be a exe file for setup - chrmstp just run it and you will have your chrome back, if this works then there is no need to rename or reinstall

My man, My man. I soo appreciate this damn video. Chrome worked in the morning on my personal computer and then by afternoon I couldn't pull it up. Frustrated as hell I was not understanding what happened. I gather it was some odd crash that occurred with Chrome. Cleaned out the Chrome items in exe in Task Manager.
