Thanks dude for taking the time to share your knowledge and expertise. Mine had codes 7,17,25 and 26….but I never found evidence of a leak. I ordered the part from your link…replaced it and it was doing the same thing. Pissed off, so I drank a beer and walked away. My wife hunted me down and thanked me for fixing the washer. So, if you replace the valve and your pump is still running…let it run for a bit and see if it stops after 15 minutes or so.

Thank you so much for sharing your video. We ordered the GE part and after watching your video, we were able to repair our washer. We weren't getting any pressure with our hot water. The cold water was working fine. The process was simple, thanks to your video. We really appreciate you helping us out and saving us money during this scary time with covid.

How did you fix it? My washer has the same issue that this guy shows in the beginning of the video. But I see code 26 as the first code in the error mode. This code explains that washer was in balance.

Great video. Helped immensely, even though my codes were slightly different. One other note, the factory maintenance printout is in a plastic pouch inside the washer frame. Accidentally found them when i tilted mine up from the bottom. That printout also had a bunch of tests that you can run through; most importantly for me, how to clear the codes after replacing the inlet valve using the rotary knob after entering the test mode (code 16 if i remember correctly).

Thanks my friend for saving me $$$. It is the exact problem I have with my GE washer.

Very helpful and easy to follow! I replaced the water inlet valve. When I was putting it back together I noticed an orange tube/hose next to the part I replaced that wasn’t connected on one end. ANYONE have an idea what this is and how to fix??? Thanks!

Our washer turned on at 10:39 pm last night like it was possessed. It then wouldn't turn off or do anything but blink error codes and kept trying to drain. We will have to try this repair. Thank you!

Jilli Tom, how did you do the reset? I haven't found anything online with regard to that? I just ordered the new valve, but can't get the machine to stop flashing and trying to drain out, regardless of how long I leave it unplugged... Thanks in advance for any input you can provide.

Unplug your machine for 1 mins. Then plug it back in. Open and close you lid 6 time. It should reset.

And make sure your pressure tube is connected. Mine came off when I change my value.

thank you for this video. I fixed my washer too )) Only one addition - after I changed the valve, I had to leave the washing machine ON for about 10 minutes, so it could reset itself.

THANK YOU! This comment should be pinned to the top as it is just as important as the video! I was bummed when I changed it, plugged it in and still did the same thing... But after seeing your comment I just let it run, and sure enough after about 5-10 min, it turned off and now works great!

Hi thank you for sharing this. We have same washer. My husband had to replace the pump on our machine. After we started a load of clothes. I went to check and it had filled with the correct amount of water. But the FILL light just stayed on and machine wouldn't start washing. He checked error codes and got A LOT. 7 was one of them . Is there a way to reset these codes? I have scoured online and your video is only help I can find on this machine, so thank you for sharing. And any advice on what to do next?

I have the same washer. Right now mine is randomly waking up and beeping like buttons are being hit, and doesnt register input, but will randomly work. Ive heard its a bad control board, which is unfortunate, because those cost almost as much as a new washer at that point. Im really disappointed by modern appliances these days, this washer is only ablout 3-4 years old, and its main board has already failed. Ge only offers a 1 year limited warranty.

Hello hoping you can help me. I have the he GTW685BSL1WS washer I ran the "consumer error mode" test and got fault code 30 - button fault. I checked all the buttons none of them are stuck but the soak button keeps cycling through the soak times even though the button is not pushed. Is there a way to do a reset the mother board to stop this from happing

I know this is an old video, but I had a question about this same washer. Mine is turning on, then clickibg sound, then off. Every 19 or 20 green light flashes in the board it clicks??? What could this be?

Mine quits agitating after it fills. Then if left alone, then the machine just shuts off. The error seem to point to 10 and 19 I think. Both the fault code was pointing to shift mode issue. And the shift mode works just fine. The machine when put on drain and spin functions perfect. Question: Can bad bearing effect the agitating cycle far more than spin mode? I can tell it has compromised bearing due to its sound.

Hello! Someone forced the lid open so now it won’t lock when it’s on its cycle- what do you suggest I replace?

Hello, I am having a problem with the same Washer. But the Start light button just blinks. Any other button I press on the panel it just cycles through the TEMP CONTROL options. I tried to reset the panel as well and no luck. Any idea what could be causing this issue? Thank you.

Is the pressure tube up top supposed to be connected to anything?

Yes one Side goes to the board and the other side goes to the bottom of the tub

Know what this issue could be? GE model The start button doesn’t turn the machine on, only when I turn the nob will it turn on. Then, occasionally it won’t allow me to actually start a load, no matter what settings I try- so I will unplug it. Then while it’s washing, it will change the settings multiple times during the washer and leave the cloths soaked. So then I will have to do a spin and drain cycle. Sounds like a sensor? Or an issue that’s fixable? Or hire someone out?

I should add, I’ve tried to pull the error codes and it doesn’t go into that mode for me. I’ve tried it different ways. So unsure of what error codes.

I have a GE GTW725BPN0DG washer that stops after opening water valves for a short period which it is supposed to do then stops, no consumer error code, or technician error code. If I reset error code in machine will start again. But not go past letting water in & stops. Machine will run all technician tests, spin agitate water valve etc. test. I replace control board with a used control , same issue. Replaced lid switch. Machine does not get to lock lid sequence., but will lock lid in technician test mode.

I have this model and all of a sudden it won’t even turn on or light up do u know the problem by any chance??thank u

Unplug it for at least 1 min. If u can power it on open/ shut the lid 6x within I believe 12 seconds. Make sure to lift up 2 inches and shut. Turn knob around past the last setting then to drain spin pressing start. Sounds dumb but once my outlet needed to be reset lol.

My Temp/Soil/Spin buttons sometimes don't work (no matter how hard I press)...is that a motherboard issue and needs to be replaced?

It is a Possibility that It Could Be the Main Board or It Could be the Touchpad.

I have the same exact washer and last night it did not start the wash cycle. I got code 8, 26, 31

@@susieacfalle9909 after spending money on purchasing the module to update the system thinking that was going to solve the problem which I did not I didn’t feel like putting more money into it so I purchased a brand new washer from PC Richard. I purchase one similar in size without the fancy electronic controls. I also purchased the 5 year extra warranty . I bought a whirlpool. I definitely wasn’t buying GE again that’s for sure.

I have the same problem but instead of error code 7, its 26? Should I go ahead and get the water inlet valve?

I had exactly the same code. There were 26,7,19. I replaced the valve and then left the washing machine ON for about 10 minutes, si it could reset itself. After that, the washing machine works as usual.

My GE washer model # GTW680BSJ0WS has similar symptoms, when plugged in it tries to pump/drain water. When unplugged it drips water into the tub. When the Start button is pushed to get an error code it only comes up with a 4. What does a 4 indicate?

Identical for me. Haven't figured anything out. Power down for 15 minutes, go into diagnostic mode, display 4. I will be calling GE service in the morning, but don't have any funds until payday. Considering home warrantee service to cover this and other problems.

I have a problem with my washing machine and it dials 4 and the pump works, which is draining the water, but it is empty. Keep working by throwing the water, it can help me how to fix it, please.🙏🏻

@@tdubaniewicz I figured it out. Mine had excess water at the bottom so I pulled the hose out laid it on the floor and let it drain what little was still in the machine and then it worked again

I had the same error 8, it was the pressure hose disconnected from the tub, you can access from the bottom and get it fixed. then plug and turn on and leave it for 4mins, the error goes away.
