I just wanted to say THANK YOU! Because of your awesome video here, I was able to order the kit with the link you provided (hopefully an affiliate link to make a couple bucks), and fix our fridge problem. I replaced all three parts and also heat shrinked all the connectors. Others on Amazon said this kit wears out within 9 months to a year, but at least I found the solution now. If it goes out again, I will most like purchase the OEM GE kit (a lot $$$ more). Anyway, thank you so much for the help. This was a breeze to fix and my fridge and freezer are the perfect temp now - wooohoo! Thanks!

I'm a couple weeks in now with the new part in this fridge and it is working like a charm. That was the culprit and this did the trick. Super duper cold now and working great.

for defrost there are 4 main parts. heater unit. thermistor temp sensor . high limit defrost sensor. computer board. my high limit defrost sensor went bad, and when it did it knocked out my computer board. so just replacing parts without testing is not the way to go. there are videos showing how you disconnect the circuit board and test the defrost components at the board . i did that and found all my components were good after replacing the high limit defrost sensor and still getting no defrost in the fridge. when i took out the old circuit board, there was a burn mark on the back on one of the solder joints. i didnt want to believe it was the board, but it was.
