Legend! Just experienced this issue - I have been doing driver repairs and nothing. This was the exact issue, I change my wheel often so the pulling back and forth , dislodged a bit. Much thanks - Fanatec should have a light code that flashed to tell that it needs pushed back 'home' 💚

Same thing happened on my GT DD PRO. Kept pissing me off and disconnecting. Loosen the clamp and push it in best I could. Tightened the clamp as hard as I could with an Allen key. And no more disconnecting!!! You’re a lifesaver man!

Glad it fixed your issue. I have had the same problem, but with the Podium DD1. At first, it happened with my WRC wheel but never with my F1 wheel. I thought it was an issue with the wheel but didnt bother to contact support. I tried to figure out when it was happening but it seems to happen when I "brake hard, downshift and turn right". Very wierd I thought. I got a McLaren GT3 wheel for christmas and the same thing started to happen with that. Both problem wheels uses the plastic Quick Release and the F1 wheel uses the metal one. Then, a few days I go I noticed that when it got disconnected, I could push it in and it would start to work! After that I try to not pull the wheel but instead try to push it a little. Since then I have not had any issues at all. My theory is that when I brake hard, downshift and turn, I pull the wheel towards me and the wheel is not attached so hard so it makes it come out abit and the pins inside disconnects. All in all, I like my Fanatec stuff, pedals, shifter etc, but I am a little dissapointed in this cheaper plastic QR. Maybe I will buy the metal QR and exchage it, but I'm not sure. Hopefully this (and your video ofcourse) can help other with similar problems.

man I have the exact same issue right now . Wanted to build up my fanatec podium f1 today, i tested for like an hour, everything worked well, but then i showed the wheel is disconnected. I did every firmware update but nothing worked. So its a problem with the wheel, did you managed to solve it ?

@@ogrroyalty5875 Well, I "solved" it the way that I described above. For me it disconnects due to the fact taht I pull it towards me and the wheel gets disconnected from the pins. It is just not tight enough.

I know I tend to pull on my wheel when I brake, so I think that's probably pretty common.

Legend. I literally lost a race I was leading when I lost FFB and ended in the wall. Did the usual remove wheel from base (But did not check shaft). Jump into next race where I'm leading again and literally in the last corner it went again. I was going slow enough that it did not cost me the race.

this is exaclty what happened to me yesterday. using the very same wheel base and wheel. i tried this and it's not working for me. Whole thing is not even 6 month old. I think i have to send it back. Thanks for posting this.

I discovered this the first day I used the wheel because the whole thing ended up in my hands: the wheel and the metal part, still attached. This was the reason why there was practicly no torque, and that surpriesed me, since with the booster it is supposed to be rather strong. So I attached it back, but after a while it started loosing torque and it came off again, the whole thing ( the wheel and the metal part). Today- the second day I used it -I checked again after racing and it was slightly coming off again ( a couple of millimeters) ...I believe it either needs to be checked regularly or tightened really strong ( man's strenght, I suppose...) :D

It requires 15nm of torque, I had to use a torque wrench to get anywhere near that it was impossible for me to tighten it anywhere near 15 without my torque wrench and an m5 bit
