A report you did saved me from buying a flood car recently.of course the owner said it had never been flooded but I looked for the water/rust line under the hood. You saved me big!! Keep up the good work.

    A word of advice when doing this is to never overbuff because it will start to take the paint off. A way to avoid this is to NOT BUFF PAINT AT NIGHT because you can't really tell how much you've done.

    that's more of an art than anything else, you look at it, and feel the roughness going away with your fingers. Better to be conservative when you start though so you don't buff too much off.

  • @LoomyX
    @LoomyX10 жыл бұрын

    Probably. But you'll want a better dual action polisher (like Meguiar's G110) and a handful of smaller foam pads (5.5"). And you only need 4 pea sized drops of polish on the pad and no water. Get a strong degreaser too - Scotty has just "filled" the paint with water and oily residues from the polish, and even then it's clearly visible in the "finished" shot. Give it a week and a wash and it'll be just as faded. Do it properly instead :)

    Hey Scotty. I own a 2013 Honda Pilot white diamond pearl. A couple years ago I had damage to the rear fender and had a body shop repair it. It looked great at first but now looks yellowish due to fading by the sun. Any suggestions as to a good fix? Thanks

    Scotty I tried this technique but unfortunately didn’t work. How many applications of this would you do? My Tacoma is a 2001 and started peeling/flaking. I did about 3 applications with the maguaires ultimate polish compound. Still looks very dull. Doing it in the garage. Thanks

    yes, you have to be careful, hence I use so much water. The purists whined at me using so much water, but it prevents eating off too much paint all at once.

    Hi Scotty. I need to find out how to fix a problem I have on my 2003 ford explorer tracker. After replacing the engine on this vehicle I just purchased, I noticed that the headlights and side lights will not turn off. Power windows windshield wipers do not work. What's going on???? I'm sick with tension!!! And grief!

    Thank you so much. I'll have to give this a try. My car's clear coat has started peeling and wearing off, so I'm tempted to give this a try - rather than paying for a spray paint job on my car. Many thanks x
