I did not. I went to my mechanic and told him what the problem was.

2010 Jetta EPC light was on without EPC codes. I had a P0420 and P0303. Coil wiring on #3 had come loose and burned. Swapped coil pack 1 & 3. Cleaned # 3 plug and runs great. Will be replacing plugs, #3 coil, and coil wiring harness.

I have had EPC problems for years on my 01 New Beetle. Scan codes were cylinder misfires and engine too lean -- many codes. Several shops worked on the car -- replacing the MAF, gas pedal, vacuum lines and valves, PCV system hoses. For a while they would regularly clean and re-adapt the throttle body. Finally, it wouldn't reset and we replaced the part. Voila. Instantly no more EPC driveability problem. No more rough idle. Why no one thought of replacing the TB sooner, I've no idea.

Im so glad i came across this video. Put a new tune on my car and 2 days later i went to overtake and my car lost power, EPC light came on, Check engine light came on. I pulled over and shut it off, unplugged the battery to see if it was something electrical, replugged it in and it was shaky, then just completely lost power, It high revved once but no movement so ive been thinking its the transmission, which i thought was odd because i had no symptoms before. So im gonna check to see if its any of these things with the Ancel OBD2 scanner. Heres to hoping thats what it is.

I have a 2016 1.4tsi jetta and facing the same issue twice! The first one was on early 2018 and got it fixed with cheap explanation. And today, 3rd week of 2019, it happens again in the middle of the night, away from home and alone. I'm pissed off with vw. It is absurd to send the car to service centre every year with the same problem. Huhuhu

thanks for the video man I just did the same thing, ordered a used throttle body from ebay that only has 8K miles on it. My TPS Sensor is going bad so I ordered a brand new throttle body.

I have a 2012 passat se 2.5 and my cut off in slow traffic yesterday. i pulled over sat for a few minutes the started it up, the EPC and engine light went off. if i change the throttle body unit, is programming necessary? I hear different things from different people about programming.

Is there a throttle body alignment procedure after you replace it ?

2013 VW PASSAT 2.5L with 20,000 Miles Same issue, P0122 and P0222, both show low input voltage to the Throttle Pedal Position Sensors. Which means that the Pedal sensors are probably ok and throttle body sensor (the one attached to the throttle body in this video) is bad and needs replaced. I confirmed suspision with scan tool diagnosing live data. When pressing on the gas pedal, the output voltage from throttle body sensor (the one attached to the throttle body in this video) was displaying 0.0% Voltage output and the flap on throttle body (the one attached to the throttle body in this video) did not move at all. I concur that the throttle body is bad if you receive those codes on ODBII scan tool and live data shows 0% output voltage. could be wiring but you can probe that wire harness and test if you have a multi-meter. BE CAREFUL! ANY SURGE IN POWER OR GROUND SOMETHING WRONG AND YOU WILL FRY YOUR ECM! ECM FOR THESE CARS COSTS OVER $1,000 US DOLLARS!

How did you calibrated the tb after you replaced with the new one ?

I have a question. When you changed it did you have to reprogram the part or what was the aftermath of all this??

Hey G, I have a question on my 2013 Jetta S 2.0. I was just driving down the road and exited the freeway when my car stalled out and wouldn't startup again. Inoticed that other lights were on the dash when I was doing this and it was the epc light the traction light the battery light and the green brake light. Anyways I looked it up and have bought a new throttle body, a new starter and a new fuel pump assembly and still does the same thing since that day. Which is when I try to start it the starter is the only thing you can hear on and spinning good. Any ideas? I'm getting gas fine AND all the fuses are in tip top shape amongst the other big parts. I don't understand why it's not cranking. Because it's not even getting to thw point of spark for me to check. Anyways. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

My 2012 Jetta EPC light came on and went to 'limp' mode. I replaced one fuel injector and it solved the problem.

i have a 2012 vw 1.4 tsi jetta and i am having throttle issue my car is losing power when i mash the gas the car is holding back and i am seeing something like coming out from the throttle body when i take of the hose what can i do.

I have a p0221. The epc light comes on and off. Sometimes it doesn’t come on for a few weeks. Ordered a new throttle body for $80 on Amazon. Hopefully this fixes my issue. 2013 golf.

Be sure you disconnect the battery before removing old one, and you may need a throttle body alignment after you install the new one just an FYI

Any help or ideas are greatly appreciated.....My EPC and engine light are on, The 3 codes I got were { P0480 Fan 1 Control Circuit} { P0322 Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit No Signal } and { P0106 Manifold Absolute Pressure/BARO Sensor Range/Performance } From what Ive seen if its just the throttle body, it should be pretty simple, but I have a feeling its more than just the throttle body. I think my radiator fan is working too hard on one side, and the other one doesn't spin at all, so I think thats at least part of the problem.

I changed my sensor cause i thought that was the problem! And the same problem came back. Although now when the light comes on I’m able to accelerate now

Just curious how the replacement part is holding up a year later? Looking at 110k and just starting the issue on my 2013 Jetta SE...I cleaned the throttle body at 75k, no issues until now but spot on what you're talking about so guess it's time to replace....thank you for the video!!

Take it to the dealership there is a recall on this part got mine fixed 100%free

I have a 08 A5 3.2 Quattro with p0123 and changed out throttle body new and harness and new pedal and still have this same code .damm near got whole car apart trying to find short in wires do you know what else to look for even had ecm checked out

Got a 2012 vw Jetta s 2.0l , I’m hoping replacing this part will work, I changed out the spark plugs and wire set because I had some misfired cylinder codes pop up, thought it would help, it didn’t. So, I got the check engine light and every time the epc light comes on it doesn’t want to accelerate fast and it won’t past 45mph, and take off is so slow.. hopefully this helps! After replacing the throttle body "no reprogramming needs to be done" it's all mechanical minus the sensor." the car will either drive flawlessly for still give issues in which case you picked up a bad replacement or it's related to another issue. How did you get your codes? Did you have dealer or friend diagnose? I've a 2009 CC and the EPC light came on today. Seems to run ok...so far. BUT..there's an "exclamation point" where the mileage is/was...that one goes on & off intermittently.

Where did you buy your throttle body from

I have the same issue with my 2011 jetta, the check engine light is on and EPC light comes on like a minute after turning on the ignition. On idle it sputters and shakes a bit and when i place it on drive it shuts off sometimes. When it doesn't the car wont go past 20-30mph and sputters/shakes a lot. What do you think??

Not that hard. All it takes is literally your time.

So the same thing happened to my car all I just need to do is change the throttle body there’s no programming correct cause some guy told me we have to do a bunch of programming for it to work and I have the same car as you 2013 Volkswagen Jetta

Literally just finished installing my replacement throttle body (used).. Epc code light cleared almost immediately..check engine light however remained on , I drove the car and it felt great but the check engine light still concerned me..I drove for about 25 minutes total and came home...I came back out to make store run and the check engine light had cleared as well ...I'm guessing it needed an adjustment period/ relearn ...no I did NOT take it to any dealer or shop for any kind of reset !!..and is working flawlessly just hoping it holds up being that the replacement is used as well.

Where is the throttle body located at in the car?

The other day i had my vw jetta 13 epc light come on the minute i turned on the car , it started shaking and when i accelerated its would sputter and shake , i turned off the car waited 2 min. And turned it on again and it went away , just started normal , could it still be the throttle body?..... also sometimes when im driving and i push to accelerate it sometimes sputters and shakes on 1st gear and 2nd gear any idea what that can be? If its the throttle body causing the issue??.... please let me know ....thank you!

@@jccla82 so what fixed my epc problem was changing the spark plugss and the wires that contain the boots at the end , i went to orielys for the parts, when i took of the wires one of them was burnt and melted out on the inner and outer part if the boot ...ever since i hadnt had a problem hope this helps

Nice video. I have a 2012 VW Jetta S and as I was driving my car, it started declining as I pushed on the gas pedal. The EPC light came on. I pulled over and turned off my car immediately. I turned back the car on and was okay driving home. No warning lights came back on. I'm curious if the issue is the sensor or the throttle body itself. What is the best suggestion you can recommend that I can do to check for? What cleaning fluids is recommended to clean the sensor or the throttle itself. Thanks :)

The sensor and the body are attached. They are essentially "one" you can try to disconnect the sensor and remove the throttle body and clean it. If after you clean them it still throws a code I'd suggest doing what I did. Buy a used part off ebay (I paid $40) install it and it it works great!! If it doesn't return the unit for full refund. Chances are it's the sensors/throttle body

Just message me if you need help. I firmly believe in giving back to my audience/subscribers. it's honestly not that hard. the hardest part is just getting it out. this requires not bumper removal or anything intense. you just need the tool to unscrew the bolts and move some of the airbox and engine cover. 2-3 hours tops
