    Yeah, it's especially useful for drone shots where we battle exposure a lot more when moving around, panning and having less control overall than with a camera on the ground! Happy to hear that mate 🙌🏻

    Can I also change exposure in those windows during tracking?. Know its weird question but can it be done for object thats swimming away from me from darker to more lighted place?.

    Your videos are very helpful. Thank you! It’s especially helpful that you show your keystrokes. What do you use for your screen capture to show that?

  • @AlexBjorstorp

    Happy to hear that! I use Screenflick, originally I bought it because it was the only affordable software for screen capture where I could select my frame rate and other software kept messing up my recordings when putting it in a 30 fps timeline. It's rarely failed me and when it has an extra export has helped. So I highly recommend it 🙌🏻

    Finally found a video related to what I searched for. Is there any way to exposure stack or HDR blend in davinci resolve? this is the closest ive seen so far. thanks!

  • @AlexBjorstorp

    @AlexBjorstorp

    It's going to be difficult to exposure stack or HDR blend if you're referring to the features you have in something like Photoshop and Lightroom, where you take multiple images and blend together. With a moving image that's way more difficult and I don't think there's an exact way to do that no. You can adjust with masks but the magic happens in-camera with exposing correctly from the start and then having the room to grade and adjust afterwards :-) Hope I understood your question correctly!

    just to be sure, I can still use these LUTS after the CST or if footage is already rec709 correct? I don't have to use this LUT essentially in the middle of the nodes?

  • @AlexBjorstorp

    @AlexBjorstorp

    6 ай бұрын

    Correct, you can use the LUT anywhere you want. I prefer to use them before the Rec.709 conversion to work with them and have that extra information for the LUT to work within but you can use them after as well and on footage that are in Rec.709 already :-)

    can you explain why you put LUT before the CST? i've researched a ton on this and have seen that it should always go after. Thanks!

  • @AlexBjorstorp

    @AlexBjorstorp

    It depends on what the LUT is made for. Many LUTs are made for Rec.709 and then have to be dialled down in intensity. My LUTs are built to be less strong and work before the CST to take full advantage of the larger colour space (as Rec.709 is very small). The LUTs however also work with Rec.709 clips and after but they just give a better result with more information to work with and it follows the workflow of grading before the CST when not using LUTs to again get as much as possible out of the extra information before the conversion happens. I hope that makes sense and clarifies 🙌🏻

    @@AlexBjorstorp yep! makes sense. thanks for the response. just through me off. so it's basically like a part of your "corrections" workflow that you use/d as a time saver.

  • @AlexBjorstorp

    @AlexBjorstorp

    8 ай бұрын

    My LUT in this case takes care of the Color Grading and Contrast changes, so color grading and the first bit of correction, then all there's left is exposure and perhaps balance depending on the clip. And you could add a bit of extra spice with some masks after the LUT if you want to take it to the next step but the LUT does most of the hard lifting :)
