    Hi Kristy ! Thank you so much for your tutorial about hit roots. I will have to do a color correction which will be my first one I was a little bit hesitant to do it but thanks to all this knowledge that you shared I feel that I can do it. Thank you, thank you thank you! If you have any other advise I will really appreciated it.

    This is so informative, thank you so much !! I've always been blonde but with age it has darkened to a much darker blonde than I prefer. I left my roots on too long - I think - I always leave them to do last. And I'm stuck at a level 8, with them, with no budge from purple shampoo on that new growth that I dyed. So helpful. Thanks again!

    Thank you for the information. I’m watching this with orange 🍊 😮 😢 hair at the moment. Thank goodness I only bleached the nape, not the crown or front. I’m white in the front and salt/pepper on the crown. Brown in back. I got impatient with the natural greying process. Again, thanks for the information and good luck with the channel.

    @kristy I just discovered your channel. Love your hair & colour. I just got a horrible highlight job & trying to figure out what to do. I am about a level 5 (I think) brunette and wanted your beautiful colour. Can I ask what toner you would use to achieve that tone? Thank you!

    Hi Kristy, This is an amazing video and very insightful. Thank you! I was hoping you can providr some additional answers to some questions. I used OligoCalura 7neutral. I made a mistake and have partial hot roots. I bought calura oligo gloss 6-1/6A to fix it. I watched the company video on the product but info was missing. Do I need 50 % toner and 50 developer. I have Oligo Calura 30 vol9% is that what I need to use or a different type? Do I just apply on the roots or all the hair ? I do have some gray too so in the company video says 30 minutes. How do I look at my hair and know it is ready to wash out? Thank you for your help!!

    My fiancée just had her hair bleached and was trying to get blonde highlights, not a clown hair. They did too much on the front roots and everywhere else is fine but just the front is too much orange and it look like she will have to wait another month before she can do it again without further damaging it. And we have a wedding in a couple weeks. She lives in colombia what can she do other than buying a wig for a short term fix?

    I messed up trying to bleach my hair. It doesn’t look horrible but my roots are like a level 9 blending down into level 7-8 ends. All brassy. Should I attempt to lighten my ends to the same shade as my roots, or is that likely to end in banding? I am also considering using level 7 or 8 ash Demi all over. Could that result in orange roots and brown ends? Not sure if you’ll even see this now, but thanks for the informative video!

    I dyed my hair dark red brown with 20 developer and had hot red roots! The girl at Sally’s beauty supply told me to use the 20 but I was not sure she was correct. It looked horrible!!! So I had some medium honey brown and volume 10 developer and used that on my roots and it matched my color perfectly! It darkened it to match the rest of my hair. 12:02 I realized the 20 was way too high. Thanks for the video.

    This helped me so much, thank you! I have natural 6.5 level hair with blonde baby lights but also with new silver coming in every day. So I researched forever to find a no lift semi or Demi just to deposit blonde on the silver.. (I was a natural blonde til my mid teens before it darkened with age) so I went with Clairol natural instincts in a level 9 and got hot roots. It didn’t change the rest of my hair but it definitely lifted my roots. My hair looks just like yours but with golden orange roots lol. Would it be better to smudge my roots with color or try just a toner first?

  • @kristymaccone7045

    @kristymaccone7045

    Hi Christy I suppose you could try a toner with a color direction of blue. But you can go a shade darker and do a root smudge.Aldo keep in mind how much the root area is. Remember to smudge with a semi, or Demi or temporary color.

    I’ve had balayage for alittle while and the blonde grew out to about right above my ears I have natural dark blonde hair and wanted to get all my hair the dark blonde I went in with a copper color in my bottom first to add some pigment since it was bleached and went over my ends with the dark blonde color, I believe it was dark intense blonde I saw it was processing pretty fast so I decided to put it on my roots last but my my natural roots turned copper/orange, what do you think I should do go back in with the dark intense blonde it’s definitely darker than my natural color but I’m okay with that I just want my colors to match… do you think I should go in with a shade darker it just seems like it lightened my roots even though my roots were pretty light I tried toning but that didn’t work at all either

  • @kristymaccone7045

    Hi Makaylees, Was the color you applied to the mid lengths a permanent hair color? I assume so if the root area turned orange. Do you like the color that resulted in the mid lengths? If you do, you can probably look for the same color in a Demi permanent but one or two shades darker and apply it as a root melt or shadow. You can also send me a picture to my Instagram or email so I can have a better understanding.

    I'm confused about the root part. You said 20 develop on roots but 30 or 40 the rest of the way? Wouldn't that pull your ends higher when you want your roots lifted most? I used 30 peroxide at roots with 9MB ... brassy. Used t18 toner.... still brassy... should I put a lower toner?

    Maybe she means on virgin hair. Because in that case you'd want the ends to be the lightest.

    I am more familiar with Schwarzkopf . May i ask what de eloped you used. I mg I was toning with Schwarzkopf I would use a 9.5-1, I like these because they are a little lighter than a 9. It would seem that maybe a level 9 is darker than your preferred level for highlights

    My hair is naturally a level 6.5 with lots of grey. I colored my roots with 6A/7A/20 vol developer and my roots came out hot. I’ve ordered a blue shampoo to help fix it. Any thoughts on why this happened? I wasn’t trying to change the level.

    If you use a 10 vol then you only deposit and don't lift the colour. But if you use 20 or higher, then you will lift the hair (especially the roots because there's more hit there). Since you are lifting the hair color and changing to a level or 2, your hair turns orange.
