You will see how to scan and troubleshoot a Jeep Wrangler JK with the traction Control lights on. Video goes through scanning the vehicle, figuring which wheel is having an issue with the ABS circuit / sensor, Replacing the sensor, and then digging deeper into the wiring when the new sensor doesn't correct the problem. It turns out there was a wire crushed by the bump stop that needs to be repaired.

    The same problem. It also was rear left ABS sensor. It happened about 100km after hand brake pads changing. The newer tool I used for diagnose (possible to buy nowadays) is Foxwell NT 360 Plus. Thank you for video. Here in Sweden the Wrangler is not such a common car and spare parts are extremely expensive. Waiting time is three or more weeks... Horrible service. Thanks, with your help I was able to fix it.

    I am glad you mentioned the "BRAKE" light makes you get stuck in gear. Exactly what happened to me today thankfully I was a block away from my house. My Abs and traction control lights came on after replacing my rotors and brake pads. Flash cal indicates "erratic front left and right tire performance" so I guess I found the culprit.

    I had the ABS, BRAKE, and traction control lights on with mine. Wasn't the wheel speed sensor at all (the code read differently, I can't remember what it was now). There is a sensor on the brake booster - little grey thing, pops on the booster and then has a connector that plugs in the side of it. Jeep calls it something weird - power brake booster check valve. I changed that out, drove it about 200 miles, and it went away.

  • @The.Odyssey

    Nice, yeah with the different code it probably leads right to that. Newer cars are a double edge sword... if you know how to interpret what the codes mean it will lead you right to the problem. However, the problem is more often then not the sensor that is supposed to be monitoring for a problem or a wiring issue. Thanks for the comments! Love the interaction with you all.

    Got the same lights on my WK. Mine is the g sensor code, c1210 that keeps showing up. I've replaced the sensor twice now and the readout on the scantool shows that it's not stationary when it's... Stationary.

  • @The.Odyssey

    @The.Odyssey

    Жыл бұрын

    Sounds like it could be one of a few things. - The sensor (which you have replaced twice so lets rule that out) - Incorrect Voltage (could be low or high) I would make sure battery terminals are clean and that there isn't a fuse on the circuit. (a quick google search did not point me to a fuse being in the circuit but I haven't looked at a diagram). - Possible broken wire going to the Sensor, a poor ground, or a broken electrical connector. - I would suppose you could still have an issue with a wheel speed sensor. If you have a meter that shows readouts like the one in the video does any individual sensor read significantly different than the others? Being that you state that the scan tool shows not stationary when stationary I am leaning towards low voltage as I assume the reading that it gets back is not what it expects. I don't have hands on troubleshooting for this issue so at this point that is just a guess of mine and the direction I would go first. If you've got corrosion on the battery terminals or cables take them off, clean them up and retest. After that I would be looking at the wires going to the connector for this sensor. Finally, if that didn't work I would unplug each of the sensors one at a time and drive it to see what happens on the scan tool, if something seems inconsistent I would make an educated guess on what wheel sensor needs to be replaced. If none of that works I would probably set it on fire and call the insurance company.

  • @amylaurin7269

    @amylaurin7269

    @@The.Odyssey Lol on the setting it on fire and calling the insurance company. I was able to look at the readout for the ABS sensor, yaw and dynamics readouts. It looks like the calibration is out on the longitudinal sensor. After trying to use my aftermarket software (AlfaOBD), it looks like we might need a different scan tool to run the sequence. Wiitech and HPTuners seem to have learns routines that work a lot better than Alfa. I'll pull out a multimeter this weekend and go through the electronics and look for a fuse. Thanks for comment!
