I spent an hour trying to put a slider back on a sleeping bag I borrowed from a friend. I was about to cry when I looked through the Internet. 2 minutes later the slider was back on and I can return this without worries. Thank you.

I know these videos are 10 years old but in case you’re still reading the comment I just want you to know that I have a very expensive down coat with a zipper that was blowed out and I was definitely trying to send it back to have it replaced for $100 or more is how they put it. After watching your video I just squeezed the ends of the slider down a little bit and amazingly that fixed my problem!! I thought the whole zipper was ruined and I don’t know how many coats I’ve thrown out over the years for the same problem of the zipper separating. I just wanted to say thank you very much for getting this $450 jacket back in service without sending it off.

I was thinking I’d have to send him to school with a plastic bag full of his belongings until I was able to buy him a new one. I did the reversal and got it the very first time, I’ll just have to see the end so that it doesn’t come off the tracks again. Thank you thank you.

Hyrum, I have a pair of insulated cover-alls that my (now deceased) father-in-law gave me years ago. They're old but in great shape and expensive to replace now. The metal zipper had come last year and I searched several places in town trying frantically to find someone to repair it. No luck! I set them aside for the summer in despair that they were ruined. Now that winter is back I decided that make one last effort to fix it. I came across your video, followed the instructions and... well I'll be, it worked!! I now have my warm, heirloom cover-alls back. Thank you.

when the zipper is sewn to the bag, you'll have to decide how much time and money you'll want to spend on repairing it. you may need to do some unstitching and then once you repair the zipper, you'll need to have it mended back together.

Why would you say that? I tried it and it worked fine. I think you don't yet understand how the zipper works.

i think she means for something like a pair of jeans. if the zipper now works backwards how do you zip the pants? take the whole zipper out of the jeans?

I used this on my cello case; it worked fine. I'm not sure what the exact problem Dana was having, but if you cut the gap at the bottom, even though it is a tight space, you can do it just as it shows in the video. Once you get the slider on, be sure to sew up the gap so the slider doesn't come off. A video that actually shows it being done on a garment or bag might be helpful for Dana. And, again, the video leaves out the part about sewing up the gap. If you don't sew it up, the slider could easily come off, but can still be put back on. I don't think you would want it to come off while you are wearing those jeans at a party or at work, so be sure to sew it up.

I used the first method to get the slider back on the track of a couch cushion zipper and it took me all of one minute to fix it! I cut only a half-inch of teeth--not the two to three inches advised in the video, which actually looked more like one inch--and had no problems. Thank you so much!

This helped me! First I trimmed around the zipper end with some fabric scissors so that there was just a little nub of zipper sticking out. Then I clamped the zipper end off with the nippers to give me two tails of fabric. Then I held the two tails of fabric taught using one hand and one foot while I maneuvered the zipper with a pair of needle nose pliers. I'm so happy it worked!
