This guy deserves an Award for making this video! I've had a broken front pocket zipper on my suitcase for about 10 years. Just watched this 5 minute video and fixed it in 10 seconds! No joke...unbelievable! Don't cut out the teeth and sew it back up, like other videos suggest. Try this 1st! 💯 🏆 👏🏻

I’ve been sewing for over 50 years and think nothing of replacing a zipper, but wow, the hours and agonies I could have saved if I’d known how to fix them like this! I want to go op shopping tomorrow to find some clothes with faulty zips just so I can fix them! Great video.

Mission accomplished!! I washed two removable couch cushion covers and both zippers would not zip afterwards. This video just saved me a lot of headaches. I have 12 more cushions to wash but I’ll simply pinch the “window” zipper ends prior to washing and hopefully prevent separation. If they do separate, I have the solution now! Thank you

Absolutely excellent demonstration! Up close and personal as well as thorough with necessary vocabulary; the silence helped me concentrate better. I would use a thin flat-head screwdriver rather than a knife which I might ruin or hurt something (like me). Where was this decades ago? I know; we didn't have internet back in the 1960s. All the stuff I threw away just because of a zipper really pains me now. I did save a few by removing the whole zipper and sewing in a new one; ten times the work plus the cost of the zipper.

Outstanding presentation and very clear. I have been using this method for some time, but now I can explain clearly how. Got lots of sharing to do. If you have a zipper block that has become too weak or broken completely, snip the teeth tracks open at the very bottom, slide on a new zipper block, closing the zip and put a tiny blob of hot glue or similar where you have snipped the tracks to close it.

Oh! Science Sir, you are a wonderful person! Thank you so much for this video. Last year, I threw away a beloved sports jacket (a model with a dozen pockets, some hidden and some anti-theft) because the main zipper was splitting. My new identical jacket also started splitting 2 days ago, leaving me walking on a busy sidewalk with a half open jacket and unable to move the zipper up or down from the middle. IT TOOK ME EXACTLY 5 SECONDS TO FIX THE PROBLEM TODAY, following your instructions: Gently squeezing both ends of the 2 boards together.

  • @insimplebeing

That was a deliciously brilliant presentation of zipper-fixing. I LOVED that you defined every part of the zipper, and I could file these elements of zipper anatomy, easily in my brain. Now I know that when the throat of a zipper gets too wide, you have to take a pair of pliers and choke the darn thing. That was the most useful bit of knowledge I've come across this week (month, year?) Thanks, muchly.

With so many repair shops closing as the older generation retires, we can’t find anyone to fix our small , but very irritating problems . Shoe repair shops and garment repair shops closed. +Radish Rabit Well, there are things called opioids, benzodiazapines, and they work wonders for all kinds of problems. They work even better when taken in large doses of the powerful kinds and mixed with a liquid called whiskey. The process is very easy, so I won't bother making a video about it. I legitimately need mine ( lifelong chronic pain and panic disorder can make you non-functional ) for their intended purposes, but taking double, triple the amount or more will ease a broken heart until you can hook up with someone to love ( and get your heart broken again. Lather, rinse, repeat )

For a zipper separating only at a certain point, close the zip while gently pushing the fabric around the backpack/garment inwards. So normally you pull it a bit outwards to close it, now you push inwards while closing. After a couple tries it will work
