This was a great idea thanks i thought id have to break the bolt but the dremel did the trick instead of a wrench i used needle nosed vise grips

Did the same thing. Does your shaft spin both ways? Sounds funny asking you this 😉 but the Remington I bought at yard sale for $20 has this issue. I got it going but can't bump and feed , have to manually pull line. Just hoping that I don't have to buy parts

i cant even get the bump knob to budge even a mm (like its stuck) to get a gap between the knob and the head to fit in a pair of plyers in to fix like you did in this video, what can i try now ?

I popped mine off with a screwdriver, then used vice grips to snap washer back on to secure bolt. Without the bumper part weed eater won't work full speed, tried to use just bolt but it needs balance. Now it's not bump and feeding have to manually pull out the lines. Hesitant to buy another bumper knob and have to get the whole assembly, good luck

not all line trimmer have this feature. My is a Ryobi and it doenst have a shaft lock like STHL

@@abramsweehi I never said they All have it but most do.... look on the metal shaft for a hole and put a Phillips head screwdriver in the hole it will lock the shaft 🎉
