The Sad Story: Sonic was helping Chris with the TV when speakers visited to instruct Chris. 1 lady from the circuit board went on-&-on. "Pan her, Sonic" said Chris. "I'll take it up with the Control Board because Strip's bored too." "Is Power bored?" asked Sonic. "Yes" said Chris. Overall, it was quite an earthing experience with flashing lights going off everywhere. The supper also caused problems as some were drawing too many currents & so a fews did leave. "Don't worry" said Chris, "We'll reassemble!"

Excellent, that's great to hear! 😃
Wonderful video ! Thank you very much, you saved me a lot of money. I actually also had a sticky white plastic, which was a pitty. But at the end I have a brand new TV. I just hope that it stays alive for many years now 🤞🏼

Can't argue with the price mate! 😀 We ended up putting our LG TV in the B&B and kept this one for our use! It's a better TV! 👍😊
Good work, I like how you stressed the importance to care not to crack the screen. It took me three years to find a replacement screen for my all in one Dell 2020 One PC. That was given to me with a cracked screen and it only cost me $85.00 for a whole parts PC. I got a good screen, a better WiFi / Bluetooth card & more ram. I have a 52" Samsung LCD that backlight went out. I opened it up and saw the driver board had visual signs of being burned up. All fuses were good but no power went out to the backlights. I looked online for a replacement and found 46" all day long for $35.00 but only 1 for my 52" @ $118.00. I installed it and it works perfectly. I had paid over $1,200.00 for the TV originally so it was a good deal to me. I have it plugged into a smart power strip so no power is used until I tell Alexa to turn it on. It is an older model and only gets internet via my Samsung 1,000 watt Blu-ray home theater's Anynet HDMI connection.

Thanks for watching! Yeah, it's critical not to crack the screen otherwise the whole job is pretty much a waste of time!
Well done! I also must thank you for the tip about the backlight setting. I'm off to check our two TV sets right now.

Thanks Dee! Yep, good idea! They certainly have a shorter lifespan with the backlights running at maximum!
Putting all the screws back in the right place is a whole other job. Great save and the price was right.

Yes, it's nice to have the table tennis table where I can spread everything out and keep things in order. Mixing screws in a container can present problems! Thanks for watching 😊

A very nice fix! How bright the backlight is set to, depends a lot on how bright the room you're watching it is, or if you can close some shades etc. As an HDR convert, if the TV showing the sun doesn't cause your eyes to screw up a little bit, then you're not getting the full benefit of HDR. But that's just my 2p...

Thanks Martin. I guess it's a balance between good viewing and the TV lasting a reasonable amount of time!

That's quite often the case these days unfortunately! Expensive electronic equipment is regularly discarded due to very inexpensive part failures! The companies don't seem to care as they would prefer to sell more units.. Thanks mate 👍
Nice repair and save.

The patient survived a delicate surgery. Maybe you missed your calling. Interesting to see those rows of led lights and learn that's why new TVs are so thin.

Good job Chris Koma couldn't you heat the glue up with a heat gun to remove that reflector cheers Graham

Thanks Graham. I think the heat would have distorted the reflector badly!

@@TheUltimateRecyclerok, mayb a warm iron. I got couple small hobby ones to put film on radio controlled planes. But I have heard guys using their clothes iron with bit baking paper. Bit of art with getting temps right. Mayb cut just inside the glue and after tape back down.
I just observed that the LED/ smart TV is much more sensitive and easily damaged(not working)than the older version TV's (TV's w/big hump backs)... The older version TV of ours lasted for 15-20yrs...but the new version, we could only use it for 1yr-4yrs.....

Yep the older CRT TVs were designed with a much longer life expectancy than modern LCD TVs

Not sure on that one. Do you think it's a fault code? Maybe, like this TV - the power supply shuts down after a number of blinks due to protection mode..
Six months ago several channels are telling me "no service" yet I was watching them perfectly before. Can anyone help please?

I guess you might have turned the room lights off to show the backlights working. I've no idea how that would have would have looked on camera.
