If you completed within 30 minutes, then you didn't follow the directions. There are three separate hold times: 10, 20, and 15 minutes each, plus multiple intermediate prep and finishing steps.

First warning should be do not use all resin when squeezing first time into pedestal because permatex was to cheap to include two resin tubes. Weak

Just used the Permatex kit and installed it. First of all, the tube of resin was solid with no way of determining what was left in the tube. So did not have enough for the final drop they recommend. And I didn't see what they refer to the curing strip in the kit. I could have dropped it but I was trying to be careful to not do so and I looked carefully for it. The ambient air temperature was about 23 degree F. My approach was to start the vehicle, let it warm up to operating temperature (including the interior), and install the resin etc. with the heater/defroster on and the car running throughout the entire process. Went through all the steps allowing plenty of time for each. Except I did not have enough resin or the final drop and application of the curing strip. So, I just cleaned up the small amount of resin running down from the chip (paper towel, not touching the repair itself) and ran the razor blade backwards over the repair to smooth it out. It was almost dark before I was done so I set up a UV heater/light about a foot from the repair and will let it run for at least an hour. With the car shut off but the doors closed to get a gradual drop in temperature of everything including the windshield. I didn't wait for warmer weather because up here in the north windshields are subject to a lot of temperature fluctuations (defrost setting to cooling when not being used) and as a result of that expand and contract repeatedly. And with the periodic snowfall water could get into the cracks and when it freezes and expands could widen the cracks. So I'm trying to prevent that for happening.

Kits that use vacuum (like this one with the syringe) are far superior for resin penetration. Rain x and 3m do not use vacuum or even seal air tight around the damaged area.

Be aware using this product can cause huge cracks to your windshield, it did mine despite following the instructions exactly. If you look at the fine print on the back of the packaging Permatex admit this.

@@starscream8956 Good for you, but what are you saying is rubbish? Is it my account of the product completely ruining the windscreen or my statement that Permatex admit on their packaging that using this product can cause the damage to get worse? I guarantee both statements are true. My chip was small, within the range specified by Permatex and I followed their instructions to the letter. I never claimed it hasn't worked for some, and good luck to them, I can only tell you my experience and Permatex's & Supercheap Auto's complete lack of interest when I raised the issue with them. But for anyone that feels lucky please go ahead and buy the product.

If you added extra resin after first removing plunger as shown in this video(1:28) then you didn't follow Permatex's instructions. Permatex does not state to add extra resin at this step.
