I love your channel. This is so timely for me. I tried crimping the slider to be tighter but you are right, this fix didn’t last.

All these years never knew how to do it. I did a temporary slider fix with a small key ring until I can buy a new size 5 stronger slider (if I can't re-purpose and older one). Thanks!

Wow, I literally thought my zipper was unsalvageable and I would have to throw out my favourite hoodie. I found this, and replaced my old slider with a slider from another hoodie I have and it worked like a charm! :D Thanks so much!

Amazing! Simple, to the point, and extremely helpful. Just repaired an expensive leather jacket with a double zipper pull. The teeth got misaligned when zipped, and wouldn’t allow unzipping. Had to take jacket off like a sweatshirt (George Castanza style 😂). This showed me enough to know how to remove the two pulls, and reassemble them correctly (paid close attention to the orientation of both pulls that came off!). Everything is back to normal now. About a half hour job, zero cost. Thank you!!! 😉

A guy wanted to charge me $75 to replace the zipper b4 even looking at it, it’s a leather jacket the teeth are not broken it just won’t come together when I zip it up🥲

Went through a lot of zipper vids to find one actually showing how to remove the top zipper stopper. I thought I'd have to buy a special zipper pincer tool from Amazon to pull it off. My $250 North Face jacket's slider got lost, and I wanted to replace it with the slider on an older North Face jacket. Incredibly North Face with not just mail me a slider, no matter how much I beg. You have to go through a long warranty application and repair process, which ultimately ends with mailing them the jacket and being without it for about a month. I hope I can get that top stopper off as easily as you did!

Everything clear till you got to where you actually put the slider on the zipper at the end. This should have been the time to take your time to show clearly and explain what the goal is, to intersect the zipper teeth.

Your video was very helpful. i got as far as removing the sliders and taking off the old zipper, but how do I get the two sides of the zipper teeth to go into the new zipper? I can get one side in easily, but can't get both at the same time when I start from the top. Any tips on how to do this? Thanks.

What to do when the zipper teeth are the problem?? A few of the teeth are not in shape and kinda sticking out from the rest and it keeps separating in that area.

You shown us how to zip the one side but how do you get the other side on? I'm replacing it for a case

My pull on the slider broke off and has been that way for awhile. Then one day the slider actually came off. I placed it back on but I accidentally placed it on backwards. So it’ll go up but won’t come back down. Do I have to break off the slider to get it back off? Or is there an easy way to get it off? Edited: backwards meaning it should be on the right side of the jacket since I am a male but now is on the left side of the jacket. So the pull is now on the inside of the jacket if you understand.

I'm replacing a nylon coil zipper slider on a dress. I can get the slider on, but I can't get the teeth to align and close! I've tried taking off both the top stops and the bottom stop and trying to get them to align from each end. What do I do?

What is the reason that the zipper’s teeth’s are not closing when you change the slider? I don’t know which size I needed because I lost the old one, but I tried a lot of them.

hi, i wash my newly bought jacket today & i noticed the jacket glider separated from the jacket what should i do? i'm so bummed out cause i just bought the jacket

I lost the slider on my lightweight bathrobe, which has a separating zipper. The box/retainer pin you feed the zipper insert pin into broke and the slide fell completely off. All I could find was a broken part of the box/retainer pin. So not only do I not have the size I don't even have the other necessary parts to fix it. Where can I get a new box/retainer pin and slider?

Wait so how can we see in depth how to squeeze the stopper off? And why is it necessary to replace the zipper head? Seems so easy but a lil too fast I'm afraid I'll squeeze with the cutter and break it all together

How do I fix a zipper on something like a bag where i cant access the stop/top and the zipper teeth need to join at the start?

Thanks for the simple explanation of how to replace the slider. Now I can save my son's hoodie from being discarded!

Try to look for the size at the back of your zipper. They come in many different sizes.

I was mildly annoyed when you said to check the top for the zipper pull...I'm like, when is she gonna get to the real tutorial?? Then I found the pull at the top of both jackets I'm fixing, or should I say, fixed, in about 2 seconds each🤣Thank you for stating the obvious some of us really do need it!🤣👍👍

Great video! Only thing that wasn't clear to me was removing the stopper, it's hard to see what you did - I put the pliers on the top and on one edge and squished it until it popped off.

You don’t really know. But most of the coat zippers are size 5. Parkas, Canada Goose style, usually are size 8. And bike rain jackets are size 3. In general. Hope this helps

Ohh I'm sorry to hear that :( From my experience, it's often better to replace the whole zipper on jeans.

Im missing the part in the middle of the slider What can i do!!

I have a heavy duty zipper on a sheepskin jacket, but the slider does not have a number on the back. How do I order a new slider if I don't have a size?

That's tricky. Try to get a size 8 and a size 10. These are the most common heavy duty. I hope this helps ❤

I find some zipper pulls look the same, but they don’t always fit. I hate replacing a zipper if I don’t have to

Yes. You can break it. But be careful with the zipper.

You just have to measure them with a ruler or measuring tape.

Yes. Remove as well the top tooth. It will create more space for you to play with. Hope this helps.
