I seen all types of of negative comments online. I'm like Wtf, Its not rocket science people. Bill is simply educating us if needed. Its good to know these things as a survival skill. I appreciate this Bill. Its not just old school its also going straight to the point. A blown fuse occur due to excessive electricity. Its purpose is to do that just like a light bulb. I come from a family of mechanics and electricians. I praise man like Bill. I'm not saying not to go out an buy a fuse but go ahead give this a try. I was stuck in the middle of nowhere on my enduro bike just now. Luckily had reception. Forgot spare fuses but used a bit of wire and this worked. You saved me a lot of trouble. Thank you very much

lol this methon is anything but safe... its only temporary, but i wouldnt recommend it at all. Lets say something is faulty that generates the extra high voltage that blows the fuse, now you put a wire that allows every kind of voltage through the system, and the faulty stuff generates very high voltage that ends up making a fire, and your vehicle can catch on fire easily ...

It never ceases to amaze me, the stupidity of some people. Your fuse blew because you most likely have a dead short somewhere. Wrapping your fuse with wire is like playing Russian roulette. It may work once in a while. Especially if you have an intermittent short. Your short might not be active when you do your "repair", and you'll think you got lucky. But when that short happens, that piece of wire might not melt before major damage occurs. DON'T DO THIS!! unless you are willing to rewire your whole vehicle when it doesn't work. Spend 50 bucks a year on roadside assistance.
