if im wanting to do this to my car do I only need to buy the performance filter or have I to buy a full induction kit??

I'm sorry but you add a hot air intake to your car. Your engines air-box has a pipe that connects it to air outside of the engine compartment. This set up you just made will grab air from inside the engine compartment. Warmer air is less dense than cold air and the engine compartment is way hotter than the outside temp. You need to fit a new box around your new air filter. This will protect it from heat and dirt, the box needs to be connected to air outside of the engine compartment. You may want to look into a air- ram setup or maybe a hood scoop. Don't try to build your own hood scoop unless you really know what your doing, I would just buy a new hood online.

what if u put the cone filter into the lower halve of the standard airbox? iguess it has enough heat protection then

Thats what I did put the KN air filter on my audi a3 tfsi 2008 1.4 I put the performance air filter on my standard air box but took cover off does exactly same job.

colder air on a turbocharged car is a completely pointless concept, when your air enters the turbo is when it gets hot, there is not point trying to make it cooler before the turbo. you could make the air colder after the turbo with a better intercooler

I have a mk5 golf 1.4 and I don't have a pipe I take off my cover that had the original air filter and I'm left with a small pipe that's nowhere near the size of these filters any ideas?

I am planning on adding a high performance air filter on my turbocharged volvo. Does it matter whether I get a universal round one or a cone shaped one? Does the shape or size of the filter affect how it takes in air or is it only for looks?

yeh that’s the problem i had, the filter i bought is 3” but so is the sensor, and i can’t find any couplings that will fit perfectly to attach the two :/

Why is that u remove the negative terminal when u work with air filter ?

Alfred- just delete your whole pcv system. Get a pcv delete and take out your pcv valve. Your pcv valve increases blowby and you burn more oil if you don't regularly maintain. Block the port of your air intake with a vacuum block in place of breather tube.

Why is this better than stock?

Argh! My filter dont fit The damn air sensor part, they are same size? Is there a part “rubber” maby that i Can use ?🙈

Why do you need to disconnect the battery? There was no electrical work when changing the filter so how would one get shocked?

Technically yes but don't tell them they'll rip you off for it. Just keep your old stock stuff at home or in boot if u wanna play it really safe, and in the event of a crash put it back on

ive never known any insurance companies to raise your rate for adding aftermarket parts.. ive known some to decrease your rate for adding "certain" safety measures to your vehicle.. But no I don't believe it will raise your rate. HOWEVER, should something happen to your engine because of the aftermarket part, unless the part is under warranty you will be paying for that engine.

Hot air = More power.. lol. Also, That "cool" "turbo sound" is not exactly good for your turbocharger.. loosen up the spring in the bov before you kill it.

So having one of these will use more petrol?

no, all cars have an air/fuel ratio meter that will keep it consistent. What it does do is increase the airflow which will unleash more power

It's a big misconception that this mod will increase power. They just look better. Airflow is the same vs stock filter because your car regulates airflow anyway

@@denimherbert2047 An increase in noise is guaranteed, but power may actually fall due to increased intake air temperatures. If you are playing for power rather than noise or looks, I'd go for a K&N drop in filter and smooth out the internals of the existing air box.

If only the music didn't overwhelm the speech it might have been a good video. I don't know I couldn't hear clearly.

Won't work that well, because fresh air coming in is blocked by the battery. There will be a dead spot there. It's also quite close to the engine itself which is radiating loads of heat. Unfortunately many cars just aren't suitable for this kind of filter, not without a lot of work to move things around.

Uhmmmm you high?? Tf???? Fresh air blocked by battery..........and you ever hear of a heat shield?? Real CAI come with these but seriously.....battery blocking air....

now sit back, relax and forget all the sand, dirt and neighborhood dogs you'll suck in

you changed the cold air that was sucked beneeth the car (at speed) and changed it with hot air produced by the engine. If you do this, DO NOT let the filter dangling above the engine, get some proper tubing and route it somwhere cold air comes in. 2/10 of a job.
