Thanks James, love watching your professional builds and making it fun at the same time
Going to be doing my shower room and this was invaluable. Was looking at the plates online but I am going to make these up myself now. Thank you.
just like to say THANK YOU .. fitted this same shower today into a new stud wall covered with pvc wall panels, the steps were so clear even I managed to follow and build the wall plate . I was so nervous trimming the stubs for the shower mounts 😂😂
What a beaut! And love the method of your work mate! Followed you for years and you never fail to impress! 👍👍👍
Thanks mate ! Just installing a bar shower for my son and that video was invaluable 🙂
brilluiant james , even though ive been on tools city and guilds quilified in 1974 its great to see someone who actually demonstrates instals correctlt , although its not like that most of the time on job , but reminds you of how you were taught , and a great point is to install pipework straight and level and brackets even if its hidden , keep up the good work james ,
Love this video. Just watched it a second time as I'm getting ready to put in the pipes in our new bathroom. Thank you!
This guy is way to cool,,i can watch him al day every day, very beneficial info, well explained , very funny. I’ve learned some cool tips Filming skills are good Editing is professional Thank you
I set this up months ago, however I did not put the wood back into place and they plastered up before I got back. Tomorrow I've got to install the bathroom, hopefully I will be ok, the pipes were in the perfect position and firmly fixed and there is brick behind the pipes. Thanks for all you do, a great resource.
Been watching your videos for a while now, really helped me with your tips and also with some of your tips managed to pass my assessment in college, keep going mate thanks for all your help

No worries bro, glad to know they’ve helped! 👍
Superb video! Ive always wondered how you install the pipework for a mixer shower. Great shower and you make it look sooo easy to install :)
Proper good tutorial video. I've referenced it several times in my bathroom refit.
Thank you for yet another very informative and helpful video 👍
A very good Monday morning to you all from Wellington Somerset
Thanks James, mine was slightly different - it had offset 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch connector to bar - but the 2 clips work a treat
Another great video James
Great video, worthy of a subscription. Thanks
Thank you so much 😊 I’m in the middle of doing my bathroom and it’s the first one.
This is by far my preferred way of installing showers. Never like having compression fittings in the wall personally.

This helped a lot, thank you… hold tight!!!
Great video, thank you .
Love your videos !!!
You’re the best! Thank you!👍
Thank you,very handy video!
Thanks for the video!
Great video, thanks 😊 👏🏼
Great vid. If you do this over a bath is the principle the same. Except for the fact you install taps on the bath as well.
Well done, great vid:)
So glad i found you!😅
Love your videos . im a new trained plumber and im newly going into this trade and would love to work with you and learn from you. Thanks these videos so help
The luxury of doing it in a stud wall. The last bar mixer I fixed in was a solid brick wall.

That's exactly what I'm about to attempt!
Awesome video.
very well explained
Brilliant. Cheers
Great video
What a good idea with the wooden plate I’m going to do that as the walls are made of plaster board
I appreciated it thanks a lot mate
Real good vid.
all that work and a nice quality shower fixing plate kit is like £15 off local store which makes a lovely job for 1/10 the time. :U
Nicely timed 'How to Video' .... just about to install a Vitra (Black) shower... also looks to be the same Shower board (Concrete) :)
Brilliant.
Hi James, After watching various KZread videos, I installed my 1st Ensuite and your idea stands out the most. I have created a video and tagged you in I can edit it if you don't want to be mentioned, I fully understand...
Nice work man! Also asscrack kills brotha 😆
That’s a beautiful shower
Thanks great
Thank you for Vedio
Lovely..
Nice
Tip for remembering the sides for hot and cold. Politics: red to the left, blue to the right. (except in the US of course). Also I always run a bit of water through before fitting the valve. Those thermostatic valves can be easily damaged by a small amount of muck; even bits small enough to pass the gauze washers. I learnt this through experience.

it's not that. he just forgets. You go to the back, the front, if you stop and think you remember, but as he's working the pipes, especially doing the elbows at the bottom, he accidentally forgets which is which.
Cheers dawg
Oi oi big guns been to the gym to fit this mixer!
Morning! Loving watching your vids, I'm an amateur diyer, have done a bathroom before with your help, am about to do another. Want to fit a double ended bath with a similar shower to this one, can I just use a "T" piece fitting from the tap feed to the shower feed?
Great video as usual James ,I was just wondering are all the vitra showers fitted the same way ie: 2 15mm pipes connected the exact same way as the 240F with olives as the seal?
Do you recommend one brand shower over the other. This is a perfect video for my shower project, great advice 😊
Beast. I'm buying 2. Haven't looked at the price yet. Hope they're not too expensive 😅
Great video mate. If using the pipe guide supplied with my shower, should I set the noggin back so the front of the pipe guide is flush with the stud work and not proud? Cheers
Really enjoyed your videos. Can you use plastic pipe instead of copper for shower fitting? Any advice would help massive.
Hi James! Thanks for this video! I've gone and bought one of these based on this. Quick question though, you mention in your description that this shower is good for low, medium and high water pressure. In the blurb of the product on VitrAs website they mention 0.4 - 1bar. My property water pressure is around 2 bar, and I run a combi boiler. Do I need anything else so I don't break the shower when I come to fit it? Cheers!
Weldone
Love your vids..I couldn't quite see where you cut the pipes to fit the mixer..
Great video! I’m a DIYer and about to do this right now lol. I was planning on use push fit plastic pipe though…would it work with that or just it need to be copper pipe? Thanks!
Hi James, just watched your video, most helpful thanks, one question I'm looking to change my bar mixer and the model I'm looking at has two versions 1/2in and 3/4in my existing shower is pumped and pipe work is 15mm between the pump and the mixer can you advise which one to chose. Regards David
James,I have an existing stud wall and am planning to go through the head of the stud and drop 2 pipes down and drill 2 holes 150mm apart, have ever done this and was it a success.
Great video. I'm about to take on switching out an electric shower for a mixer shower. If My finish is going to be tiled wall, what material would I at6to the wood batons before the tiles? Would it be plasterboard? Thanks once again
Hey James: thanks a lot for uploading this kind of videos. I’m a trainees plumber and keep learning loads of tips and trick from your videos….but sometimes I get stuck…is okay to ask you for help when needed…?
Can you use the speedfit system and do this? ie/ mount the shower on the wall with the manifold it comes with, then just use pushfit to connect it all up? or do showers usually require a compression fit
Thanks James. Great video. What do you do if your feed pipe is cut SLIGHTLY too long and needs trimming. Say, it’s 35mm from the wall and needs 5 mom taken off it. What is the best way to take a really small bit off the end, especially if it’s already in situ? Cheers
Hi there! I know you said you've done it to the right for demonstration purposes but they are generally fitted in the centre so surely it won't just be one little bit of timber as you'll have the stud in the centre? 😁
Pete the cabby Top shower 👍🏿
ello sir, great video. I installed my Vitra Aquaheat Bliss 240 pretty much exactly as you showed. all works but I can't seem to get the shower as hot as I'd like. if I turn the temperature down then back up it gets much hotter then regulates itself to just a warm temp. i like my showers scolding 😂 is there any way to adjust the maximum temp?
How do you adjust the thermostat on this model? Some have a cap that comes off the end of the mixer handle but this looks like a solid handle with no end cap
Why not use PEX pipe? Love the video ty.
What do we do with awkward existing pipes? its always easy when everything is perfect
What size nozzle are you using on your torch James?
Hi, I have a similar thermostatic shower mixer with dual shower mode output. The small handle that is sticking out in the output selector knob does not align with the off making in the mixer. The water will slowly drip if the handle is not turned 5 to 10 degree from the center (off marking). May I know if there is a way to adjust the valve please? Thank you.
Good stuff James. You can also take this one step further. On the back of that stud partition make a maintenance hatch or even better put a cupboard there with a false or removable back plate. The next person for maintenance or repair to the shower will love you for it. Who knows it may even be you going back out to do that job.
Hey fitted mine to but no water getting through the left side off the controls the valve in feed okey turned it round and same side off controls blocked could it be broken inside should ur hor water feed always be on left great vid BTW 😊
Hello I like your channel.Wat is temperature tester brand and model. Thanks
Could you do this with speedfit piping? Thats all I have in my house, no copper. If not could i use copper for the mixer then attach the coller to the speed fit? Thanks
How do you adjust the thermostat shower mixer child safty setting 🤔 not warm enough
Think I might go Egypt
I've just passed my level 2 and a mixer shower was one of my exams. I'm not sure where I go from here, do you know what sort of work route I should go down when applying for jobs? thankyou ⭐
Do they do a model to go over a bath with taps on the wall?
should the long shower hose pipe moveor should it sit straight and tight? My shower long shower hose moves but there are no leaks. Thanks for help
"anti scald tech" aka they routed internal channels for the cold water to go around the entire body to make sure the hot water flowing through doesn't make the whole thing hot like it usually do. Tricky bit that.
I'm getting mixed messages, can a shower mixer bar allow back pressure? I have 8 bar mains cold and an unvented hw cylinder set to 3 bar. Could this cause the cylinder to over pressurise?
i wonder if they have an "insert" or it's cast bronze with cast channels inside. Cooling it with the cold feed like a combustion engine (what the cars use). Considering it's all round, they could easily have an insert so they can heat insulate the hot feed in. or.. There's a lot of things they could've done TAKE IT APART, LET US SEEEEE
Can plastic hp20 or speedfit be used instead of copper? What are the issues to consider?
What type of shower board is that you've used?
Should i not use this as have concrete wall and those small screw may not work ?
I've just fitted a shower like this, but keep getting a leak where the cold pipe joins the valve. I've already taken it off to apply some plumbers tape. What should I do, next? Thank you!!
Would the same method work using plastic push fit 15mm pipe?
Hi please can you help me? After having a shower or bath, I can hear a gushing Noise in the pipes, it sounds like it’s coming from where the soil stack is 🤦🏻♀️ I have looked it up and it say that it could be a blockage, so I’ve been out and bought some buster but it’s still doing it, please can you help? Thank you ☺️
Is there a regulation how high the valves got to be in the bath or shower? Is there a height regulation?
Forstner bit better than holesaw or paddle 😉
Can you use PEX pipe into the valve?
I live in an area where the water is very hard. I usually end up replacing my electric shower very three years or less because of lime scale build-up. Anyone here know how easy it is to obtain replacement parts when servicing this shower?
Can you fit these showers onto a paramount wall ?
Where can i get those wall panels?
What happens if you have fluctuating pressures if someone else turns on a tap downstairs? Also can the hot be adjusted to make it hotter than the set temperature?

Allowing you to set the temperature and maintaining it when the pressure fluctuates is basically the whole point of a thermostatic mixer
