Will 20 lb mono work for lighter jerkbaiting? Also, the other day I caught a tiny perch on a very large jerkbait and got 5 or 6 perch follow it in all at the same time

Shane Maguire Depends on what you're fishin'. If Pike, I've been catching good Pike on 15 lb mono. And I did fight them quite carefully, though. Would recommend something like 30-40 lb braid, I guess. EDIT: Also, need to add the fact, I was catching like Pike that weren't too big.

I am curious. I found the stay-lok snap But do I have to attach it to a homemade leader or directly to the line?

***** In this video he has it attached to a fluorocarbon leader. But if you use a wire trace you can attach it to that. If you are Pike fishing you certainly want either a wire trace or very strong fluorocarbon as in this video

Daniel Tipper Sometimes when lure fishing, the pike hit hard and are really engulfing the lures. Two treble hooks will become a problem for unhooking and can cause extra damage to fish. It seems that sometimes you feel you only need one hook. If you took the front hook off, it might effect how the lure works and how it sinks or floats. So by leaving it on you do not effect the lure, but by turning in the hooks like you saw, you stop that hook being a problem. I hope that helps mate.

They do. Dont think theres a single pike angler in Sweden ego does not use them.
